Speedy deletion of Alex Dixon

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Alex Dixon requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. mboverload@ 02:15, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles that you have created, as you did at Alex Dixon. This can be considered vandalism. I have not readded the speedy deletion template, as I feel there is an assertion of notability, but I did tag the article for possible notability issues and a lack of sources. It is possible that the article will be nomiated for deletion unless information is added to it. Also, please don't add unsourced information about Alex Dixon to the Willie Dixon article. Your edits should be verifiable per WP:V. Please let me know if you have any questions. Movingboxes (talk) 03:00, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't realize what I had done was considered vandalism and will make sure to not do so again in the future. I have cited reference points now. Please check for accuracy and let me know if everything is ok.Dixon324 (talk) 03:16, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

While you've cited sources now, the sources fall short of the expectations for reliable sources set forth at WP:RS. In order for a subject to meet the guidelines at WP:MUSIC there should be non-trivial, third-party coverage, something that doesn't seem to exist for this subject. Movingboxes (talk) 05:22, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have now cited new references. Do they now satisfy the requirements? Thanks!Dixon324 (talk) 04:41, 20 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. This is my first attempt at posting information and apologize that I must have done something in error. I have gone in and cited reference points and added information on why this person is notable. Please let me know if I need to add something else.
