File permission problem with File:Pooped Pirate 1967.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Pooped Pirate 1967.png, which you've sourced to http://www.bigbrian-nc.com/wdw-pc49.htm. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Dianna (talk) 04:47, 3 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Splash Mountainwdw.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think that your page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Better source request for File:Apollo 11 crew walk out.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Apollo 11 crew walk out.png. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 19:40, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The website I put down is the website I got it from. Disney fan 71 (talk) 19:44, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please put the URL of the page you got it from so the copyright status can be confirmed. As it stands this image could have been taken by the press corps and that would be an issue. Eeekster (talk) 20:14, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It opens the image in a new tab and I can't copy and paste the URL over. Disney fan 71 (talk) 00:43, 25 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is. But that doesn't make the image public domain as you claimed. Eeekster (talk) 20:13, 23 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your comment, "I worked hard on this so just, Shuttup!"

[edit]

First of all, that is a blatant violation of civility, one of Wikipedia's five pillars.

Second, Wikipedia policy is that no one owns any article, regardless of how hard they work on it. Article content is to be determined by consensus. Articles don't necessarily go the way you wish them to go, and differences are to be discussed on talk pages. The Operations and Checkout Building article is about a NASA facility, which was first built during the Apollo program, but continues to be used to this day. Your table of pictures (a sneaky way to replace a gallery) of every crew walkout during Apollo, Skylab and Apollo-Soyuz clutters up the article with off-topic information. (And why stop there? Every Space Shuttle crew (there were 135) also made that walk. Are you going to look up all those pictures and overload the article with them?) A single picture of the most historically notable Apollo crew, Apollo 11, adequately makes the point. Images are supposed to be used to illustrate the page topic. If you want to spend all this effort uploading pictures, you need to spend some time reading the manual of style for images: MOS:IMAGES, especially the Choosing images section.

Third, you have some technical issues with uploading pictures. Besides all the notices you have been given about insufficient copyright information (you can't just blow this off; it's your responsibility), you also seem to be bent on uploading all your pictures in PNG format, even though your sources were natively in the JPG format. Please read WP:Image use policy#Format; it clearly says PNG should only be used for "images with large, simple, and continuous blocks of color which are not available as SVG (such as drawings, icons, political maps, flags and other such images", or for software screenshots. "Photos and scanned images should be in JPEG format." I don't understand why you would bother to make the conversion (unless you just took screen captures?) All of those PNG's you uploaded, should have been JPG's.

Fourth, I think it's pretty obvious you are yet another sock puppet of User:BeasttoBeast and you're back again trying to get around that block. If you don't start showing signs of shaping up and learning how to work in the Wikipedia community, I will report you for administrative action again. JustinTime55 (talk) 19:36, 27 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Very clear, I will work better and try not to upload copyrighted material. Disney fan 71 (talk) 00:11, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possibly unfree File:Skylab 2 crew walkout.png

[edit]

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Skylab 2 crew walkout.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree files because its copyright status is unclear or disputed. If the file's copyright status cannot be verified, it may be deleted. You may find more information on the file description page. Your use of multiple Wikipedia accounts

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account, which contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/BeasttoBeast, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and admit to it now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:ASTP crew walkout.png

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:ASTP crew walkout.png. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. GSK 22:50, 28 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
