Speedy deletion of Savant Systems

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Savant Systems requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a company or corporation, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for companies and corporations.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 15:16, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

November 2008

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but you removed a speedy deletion tag from Savant Systems, a page you have created yourself. If you do not believe the page should be deleted, you can place a {{hangon}} tag on the page, under the existing speedy deletion tag (please do not remove the speedy deletion tag), and make your case on the page's talk page. Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the page. Thank you. —Largo Plazo (talk) 15:30, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Savant Systems

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Savant Systems, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

The reason I tagged this article for deletion is that it's about a company for which notability isn't established by the article. (See WP:Notability (companies).) Therefore, the arguments you've been making for recreating the article and for removing the speedy deletion tag are beside the point and don't justify your actions. For example, telling me what field the article is related to won't make any difference, because my reason for tagging the article had nothing to do with my failing to see that the article related to that field, and because an article can very easily be related to some field and still not merit inclusion in Wikipedia under its policies and guidelines. —Largo Plazo (talk) 19:31, 21 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
