[edit]Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. Frost 20:19, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Frost, please could you let me know if this is related to a particular link as I've added quite a few and am happy to add to the content as needed rather than cross-linking, but I'm not sure which this refers to. DiavalDiablo (talk) 21:07, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- It's not for specific edits but your editing in general. Are you affiliated with Kynk101? Frost 21:14, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, I am. I'm covering for the content manager. I think I understand what you mean. I'm happy to add actual content from the relevant pages I'm linking rather than using links to corroborate information already on here. (I did this for dollification, is that the correct way?) DiavalDiablo (talk) 21:30, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- This isn't allowed under the spam guideline, see Wikipedia:Spam#External link spamming. Also, please refer to the notice below about conflict of interest. Frost 21:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)

Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, DiavalDiablo. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Frost 21:37, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Got it, thanks Frost. I'll go through the talk pages tomorrow instead :) Sorry! DiavalDiablo (talk) 21:41, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
