Thank you!

Thank you for the thanks! :) That was my early days here, after a decade and I was a bit hesitant, even to ask for help. NormadicEditor (talk) 18:16, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

@NormadicEditor No worries, what do you need help with? Dhoru 21 (talkcontribs) 02:26, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I’ve been working on the Wikipedia page of a Maldivian parliamentarian, and after ages, I’m back on Wikipedia. Even though my citation methods, writing, and research are based on solid factors, I ran into glitches and hiccups with certain language tags and things like that. I wrote on your page that day because I messed up a redirect—I was trying to create a redirect page but ended up building a whole article instead. All I included were citations from articles involving an incident, and now the page I created is up for deletion.
The feedback I got was that the citations weren’t enough, mainly because the person’s career wasn’t considered noteworthy, and most of their work is documented on organizational and educational websites. I tried to redirect it, but since the deletion tag is there, there’s no way to redirect it anymore, and I’ve basically given up on the page. I’ve been focusing on developing the parliamentarian’s page instead. It’s a lengthy process since I’ve got a whole team of 8 doing the research, and none of them are on Wikipedia!
It’s a tricky situation since the main citations are from a well-known incident and some of the key roles she’s held. The person who flagged it mentioned that the sources weren’t deemed strong enough, but I still think there’s merit in the work. Right now, the page feels like a “ravioli” kind of scattered and unfinished. NormadicEditor (talk) 03:03, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I also tried redirecting the subject’s page to her spouse’s page (the parliamentarian), but since the deletion discussion hasn’t come to a halt, I couldn’t do it. It’s just that I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and it’s even hard for me to look at the mess I’ve created. My main goal was actually to do a redirect on the incident, but it wouldn’t fit without the person’s page on Wikipedia. My journalistic ways are pretty hard to get by, especially when it comes to Wikipedia!
Also, sorry for writing so much, I’m a bit addicted to writing, Now your talk page looks like a mini article from me 🤦‍♀️ NormadicEditor (talk) 03:11, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
why were the sources not deemed strong enough? Dhoru 21 (talkcontribs) 17:04, 23 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
