Kilnt. Sorry that it took a couple of days to get you a response, but I needed to check with someone who knows the rules better than I. It appears that you have two options:

  1. You add a notice to the site of publication (i.e. your website), releasing the contents under the GFDL or
  2. (probably the one you want)You may send an e-mail to permissions at wikimedia dot org from the appropriate domain. The person who manages that mailbox would make a note on the talk page to authorize the use of your text.

Image:DSC0251011.jpg is now available on Wikimedia Commons as Commons:Image:Ryan Briscoe Watkins Glen 2006.jpg. This is a repository of free media that can be used on all Wikimedia wikis. The image will be deleted from Wikipedia, but this doesn't mean it can't be used anymore. You can embed an image uploaded to Commons like you would an image uploaded to Wikipedia, in this case: [[Image:Ryan Briscoe Watkins Glen 2006.jpg]].
