Determining encyclopedic content
[edit]- Hi Deschutes, I was one of the editors that removed your section at WSWS. It had no citations from reliable sources to verify that it was true: critical attributes of any content included in Wikipedia. Writing about your personal experiences with a website is a form of original research, and common sense should suggest to you that those individual experiences aren't notable enough to include coverage in any encyclopedia.
- All that said, I'd encourage you to use your interest to improve Wikipedia: for instance if you're knowledgeable about a subject and have access to reliable sources that can improve a subject, please try editing relevant articles, with appropriate citations, to improve those for readers. -Darouet (talk) 17:05, 1 October 2015 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from using talk pages such as Talk:William Binney (intelligence official) for general discussion of the topic or other unrelated topics. They are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways, based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines; they are not for use as a forum or chat room. See here for more information. Thank you. Acroterion (talk) 11:33, 6 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, discussion pages are meant to be a record of a discussion; deleting or editing legitimate comments, as you did at Talk:Venezuela, is considered bad practice, even if you meant well. Even making spelling and grammatical corrections in others' comments is generally frowned upon, as it tends to irritate the users whose comments you are correcting. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. -- irn (talk) 01:30, 11 September 2018 (UTC)
