Bonnie Dundee
[edit]I'm a relatively new contributor and I'm sure I have much to learn. I've read the Welcome page, as you suggested, and most of the Tutorial. I'm still at a loss as to why my contribution was found "not constructive", and should be grateful for an explanation.Derekroper (talk) 07:29, 29 September 2010 (UTC)Derekroper (talk) 17:02, 8 October 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.135.4.221 (talk)
Everything I contributed to this article has now been removed. Naturally I regret this, and I believe what I wrote about the composition and the tune of the song was as likely to interest anyone enquiring about "Bonnie Dundee" as the list of regiments who adopted it or the full text of the "parodies". I should be glad if these reversions could be explained before I make my final attempt to improve the article. It is good, however, to have the full text of the poem. Today, 14 November 2010, I made substantial changes to the article which look all right except that (1) my paragraphing and the lineation of the poem and song have been lost as I saved the revised page; (2) though I copied the relocated texts from Wikipedia itself, complete with references, the references in the poem and song have disappeared. The best thing to do would be to cancel today's revisions and come back when I have found out how to keep what has been lost. I would cancel them now, but can't quickly find out how to do that.
