I have too much going on in my real life that editing full-time is only going to get in the way. I come on once in awhile (when I'm bored) and edit a couple minor things but nothing major. -Deftonesderrick
Dexter Plot Summary Feedback
[edit]So far it looks really good. I keep re-reading Season 4's summary trying to decide; is it so long because it's the most recent season and therefore the most fresh in the brain, or is it so long because they cast the creepy Lithgow and let him nom on scenery (beautifully) in the most convoluted plot line ever. I sort of kid; I think each season has gotten progressively more complex so it makes sense that each summary gets a little longer.
I'm going to do some hunting about the book differences; it might not be a bad section to include if the original research is excluded (which should make it nice and short/tidy) and I know some material has been published on it. I'll see if I can dig up the links I'm thinking of in the twop threads for the show. Millahnna (mouse)talk 20:57, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the feedback! I've decided, after hours of editing, that I would apply them to the page (just the plot sections). I need more outside eyes to view it and hopefully subtract to my edits instead of adding to them. (Deftonesderrick (talk) 20:19, 26 February 2010 (UTC))

Coraline "Typo"
[edit]Oooohhh. Whoops- I thought the article implied the well because it had brick as the adjective of the word and she did find the well. (I didn't know it was a brick wall). She fouund the well earlier in the movie. Sorry about the inconveniency. --DragonofFire (龙火) 00:48, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

Message to Deftonesderrick
[edit]Why does there have to be limit of info for the plot? Did you send me message about my edit to Disturbia(film)?
- I don't get if this is some kind of joke or what, but yes, I did send you a message... and you promptly deleted it. Please read these articles about editing for plot summaries: WP:FILMPLOT, WP:PLOT, and WP:PLOTSUM. There IS a limit to the amount of info that should be in a plot summary. And please remember to sign your posts using four ~ inside parenthesis. (Deftonesderrick 05:32, 9 April 2010 (UTC))
- I don't think it's a joke--but see my talk page. ;) Drmies (talk) 03:09, 10 April 2010 (UTC)

Cast in Plot
[edit]- Just wanted to let you know there is no specific policy on including Cast names in the plot summary and it is even a stretch to say there is a rough consensus in favor of removing Cast from the Plot since there are so few editors involved in that discussion and it makes no reference to any previous discussions on the matter and the guidelines again have the bizarre habit of trying to override the defacto standard (a consensus of action) of how most editors have been writing the film reviews.
- Opinions are inconsistent on the matter which makes things messy. Given the push to keep Plot summaries short the Plot summary is unlikely to name more than the top billed cast that are essential to the plot summary, and I really like having that information in context as I read the plot summary, as I would in any printed magazine or newspaper review.
- Short version, take the guidelines with a pinch of salt. They keep changing too often and there are weird inconsistencies between projects Film and Television it is hard to keep track (or take particularly seriously). -- Horkana (talk) 20:44, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thanks for the heads up! (Deftonesderrick 01:39, 18 April 2010 (UTC))
Message for Deftonesderric
[edit]It's me timmy polo. Even though I have an account for editing, how come it's bad for me to put more than 1000 words in plot summary? For Disturbia(film), did I erase the template:plot? If I did, then I didn't mean to. Is the template always at the very top of the article? (Timmy Polo (talk) 17:06, 28 April 2010 (UTC))
- I am not going to attempt to engage you in conversation, considering I dealt with someone just like you a couple weeks ago (which this is probably the same person). Read WP:PLOT, WP:PLOTSUM, and WP:FILMPLOT to understand why it's bad to have plot summaries over 1000 words. These are the pages I referenced on your talk page, read it again.
