AfD Nomination: Belvedere Sleepout

[edit]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but all Wikipedia articles must meet our criteria for inclusion (see What Wikipedia is not and Deletion policy). Since it does not seem to me that Belvedere Sleepout meets these criteria, I have started a discussion about whether this article should be kept or deleted.

Your opinion on whether this article meets the inclusion criteria is welcome. Please contribute to the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Belvedere Sleepout. Don't forget to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each of your comments to sign them.

Discussions such as these usually last five days. In the meantime, you are free to edit the content of the article. Please do not remove the "articles for deletion" template (the box at the top). When the discussion has concluded, an administrator will consider all comments and decide whether or not to delete the article. Curtains99 22:46, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

== Image:Brian O'Driscoll.jpg listed for deletion ==
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:Brian O'Driscoll.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —Pilotguy (ptt) 03:29, 3 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:114.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:114.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. NMajdantalk 16:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GPO Dublin

[edit]

I think you were trying to reduce the image size of the main image in General Post Office (Dublin). I have reduced it by replacing the "frame" instruction with "thumb" as it seems on cannot force a specific size when using "frame" but one can control the image size when using "thumb'. Hope that is what you were trying to achieve. Cheers ww2censor 15:24, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

its 120th anniversary in 2007.

Attendances are high for a schoolboy competition with up to 25,000 present at the final. This match traditionally takes place on Saint Patrick's Day at Lansdowne Road.

Historically Blackrock College is the most successful team in the cup's history having lifted the cup 65 times, followed by Terenure College with 10 Wins, Belvedere College with 9 Wins, Castleknock College, with 8 Wins, Clongowes Wood College with 6 Wins, St. Mary's College with 5 Wins and St. Andrew's College with 4 wins. [1]

Since 1980 12 different schools have contested the finals but only 6 schools have lifted the cup. The biggest margin of victory in a recent final was in the 1996 cup when Blackrock College beat Newbridge College by 37 Points (6 tries) to 3, however the greatest margin in the history of Cup finals was in 1900 when Blackrock College beat Corrig School 63 - 0.[1]

Two captains have gained the distinction of lifting the cup twice, Jonny Mion (Blackrock College) in 1989 and 1990 and Barry Gibney (Blackrock College) in 1995 and 1996.[1]

The best scoring performance by a single player was given by the future Irish international Victor Costello (Blackrock College) when he scored 10 tries in the 1989 Cup.[1]

Since the cups beginning, only De La Salle Churchtown are the only non-fee paying school to lift the Senior Cup.
