- I've added some information that comes out of the Economist article. Given how "hot" this is at the moment, I'm really surprised this article is struggling. --Deadly∀ssassin(talk) 10:50, 12 April 2008 (UTC)
- You know, many of the editors here do not know what SEO, social mdeia is about. The one's that know they thinks any article about it is Spam and blatant advertising. If an editor tries to create such an article they cite COI...(sic) I think the Spammers Spamming their SEO links on Wikipedia have given us a bad name. PLEASE ASSIST Continued vandalism by User:Blist14 on wiki article about Bill Ayers
New user, Blist14, continues to delete biography, references, external links, and categories from Bill Ayers wikipedia page, user has no other wiki history other than deleting items from Bill Ayers article, please assist and advise. It is me i think (talk) 15:42, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
User Blist14 has been temporarily blocked. It is me i think (talk) 16:33, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not an admin, just a regular editor so I can't block vandals. The best thing to do when you see that happen in the future is to report it to WP:AIV, but please note that the user must have been warned as you need to assume good faith. --Deadly∀ssassin 18:55, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Oh right, thanks, I warned the user 2 times and then another user warned him, and then a third user blocked Blist14. Thanks It is me i think (talk) 19:47, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, you did it right. You may know this, but there are increasing levels of warning, a user must have received their final warning (level 4) before admins will take action. When that happens, you can report them to WP:AIV for an admin intervene to block them. --Deadly∀ssassin 19:50, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- It appears to me the levels of warning as somewhat flexible so it is hard to determine what each level means, even after I went through the help page on warnings. What levels of warnings are we allowed to give as normal users? I didn't want to over cross the boundaries, but I thought these violations by Blist14 were so obvious that I felt I needed to say something. thanks It is me i think (talk) 21:01, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
- As an ordinary user, you can go all the way up to level 4, if you believe that the violations are particularly bad, you can use 4im which is a one and only warning. However you need to try not to bite the newbies and give them a chance to correct their behaviour, so it's usually better to not go straight to 4im. Hope that helps. --Deadly∀ssassin 21:11, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

I have listed in full my reasons for removing the discussion. I have also obtained a second opinion, which cites policy. Please do not readd that violation of both copyright and reliability without discussion on the talk page with reference to policy. Thanks. The JPStalk to me 19:41, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
I noted that you said you withdrew the nomination but I still felt there were some issues needing to be addressed, and accordingly, the discussion has not yet been closed. As nominator, I figure you may be interested in providing your commentary on the discussion as it currently stands. Regards, WilliamH (talk) 14:54, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for notifying me. Once the article was substantially rewritten, I didn't have any other concerns about the article. --Deadly∀ssassin 21:17, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

why do you keep deleting my page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grapefruit2008 (talk • contribs) 06:43, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
- Please read the speedy deletion tag. #1 You should NOT remove tags from pages you have created yourself, #2 you need to provide reliable sources WP:RS to establish notability. At the end of the day it's up to an administrator whether they feel the article meets the criteria for speedy deletion. --Deadly∀ssassin 06:46, 23 April 2008 (UTC)
I note your change but disagree with it. I am well aware of what the school calls itself, and it is free to call itself what it likes. I will feature the school's "name" (as per its website) prominently as part of the article that I am compiling. However your change does NOT reflect wiki practices and naming standards for UK schools. Almost every other school in the UK has now achieved a specialist college status in one form or another....but the articles still refer to the institution as a school. See for example Skegness Grammar School or Bournville School that I have also worked on. Please change it back and review your decision on a naming change until next week when I have uploaded the full article. 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 01:25, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- I'm not sure of your point there - Skegness Grammar School calls itself Skegness Grammar School[1] as does Bournville School[2]. I believe the article should refer to the the name of the school unless it's about the historical Grammar School. --Deadly∀ssassin 01:28, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- I think my point is that, regardless of what the school has rebranded itself in an attempt to combat a falling roll, the Humanities College status is nought but a bolt-on to the core function of the school under current government guidelines. I suppose the correct nomenclemature should be King Edward VI School and Humanities College, Spilsby but whatever we decide on I do feel that a ",Spilsby" should be added to differentiate between it and the legions of other King Edward VI educational establishments that populate the British isles. Call it what they will it remains a school, not a college.21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 14:23, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Whatever the reason for the change of name, changed it has and for that reason I believe that the article should be called King Edward VI Humanities College. There's already a redirect from King Edward VI School, Spilsby. I don't really have a concern about changing the title to King Edward VI Humanities College, Spilsby, except to say that I wonder if it will make it harder to find in a search? --Deadly∀ssassin 21:16, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Nah that's cool. Anyone specifically searching for King Edward VI school, Spilsby will hit the redirect. Leave it as is. 21stCenturyGreenstuff (talk) 21:43, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- Last point from me - great work on the article. :) --Deadly∀ssassin 22:01, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Deletion to National Consumer Agency
Hi,
You deleted my entry for the National Consumer Agency (NCA).
As the online consultancy for the National Consumer Agency we have been instructed to compile an entry for the NCA on wikipedia.
As per their Legal Statement on www.nca.ie:
“Information and documents contained on this website are the copyright of The National Consumer Agency unless otherwise stated and may be reproduced and / or re-used subject to the latest PSI licence” – please see www.psi.gov.ie
I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind regards. Simon Johnson AMAS (talk) 10:01, 24 April 2008 (UTC) • contribs) 09:58, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
- I tagged the page as having a copyright problem, it's up to an administrator (which I'm not) to delete pages. I tagged the page because all content submitted to Wikipedia need to be done so under wikipedias GFDL licence. Most other licences are not compatible with that licence. The page WP:Copyrights should give you more information. Basically to put a page up it needs to be done in your own words and shouldn't be copied from a website that is under another copyright regime. Hope that helps. --Deadly∀ssassin 10:06, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

Really a quote, not a neologism. How about we transwiki it to wikiquote?Jwray (talk) 06:55, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
- I agree it's not exactly a neologism, I wonder if it's really a quote either. I'm afraid I don't spend much time in the wikiquote namespace, so I'm not really completely up to speed with the criteria for inclusion there. --Deadly∀ssassin 06:59, 3 May 2008 (UTC)
Samim
This DJ has been consistently pretty popular over here in Europe over the last year, and his breakthrough hit was included in the latest Ministry of Sound compilation, so I think your tag of notability isn't really appropriate. Feel free to research him on your own, his work is on iTunes, etc, I suspect you'll come to the same conclusion. I do agree it needs some sources, but its a bit much to jump on notability. Gerolsteiner (talk) 20:15, 4 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi there - I put the notability tag on because the article itself didn't make his notability clear, and didn't feature reliable and verifiable sources. --Deadly∀ssassin 19:56, 5 May 2008 (UTC)

Homogenius
Hi,
I'm not really sure why you deleted my page about Homogenius. That page has been up for months and no one has had any issues with it. I am not a spammer, merely a publicist trying to do my job. If I've done anything wrong, I'd appreciate you telling me what I've done and how I can fix it because I'd like to remain a member of the Wikipedia community.
EManganiello (talk) 19:42, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
- As you've seen on the various tags placed on your talk page that Wikipedia isn't there to advertise any company or organisation. In order to make sure that the articles you create are acceptable you need to ensure that the notability (per WP:NOTE) of the subject is clear and that there are verifiable references to 3rd party sources (news papers, etc). Also, you need to be aware that there are concerns about conflicts of interest (see WP:COI) which you need to bear in mind because you need to maintain a neutral point of view (see WP:NPOV). If you're a publicist and paid by companies to get the word out you need to be aware that there may be problems doing that on Wikipedia as you have seen by the number of articles that have been deleted from you. Hope that helps. --Deadly∀ssassin 19:47, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
warnings on User talk:138.38.142.242
Hi. I just took a look at the warnings you left as a result of this editor's changes to University of Bath. I think you might want to double check them - as they really don't seem like vandalism, rather, solid edits. I've also left a note on the user's talk page. Thanks. Toddst1 (talk) 13:24, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks for your interest. I see that the user has now provided an explanation on the article talk page, however when the edits were made all I could see was an IP user reversing the meaning of key sentences regarding the ranking of the university which is a common tactic taken by vandals. I'm glad that this has been cleared up now though. --Deadly∀ssassin 13:27, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Fair point. Right now the user has IMHO at least 3 un-earned warnings and has been reported to AIV. Did you want to retract those warnings and perhaps issue some guidance on edit summaries? Toddst1 (talk) 13:31, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
- Done. Thanks again. --Deadly∀ssassin 13:38, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Shopping in Seoul
Actually there should be enough to write a full detailed article on that one. A summary in the main article is fine but there should be enough to write a full article as Seoul is a global city with a huge number of retailing areas ♦Blofeld of SPECTRE♦ $1,000,000? 14:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)
Dear Deadly Assassin
I did not vandalize a wikipedia page, you did. This fascist house of cards you have set up on the internet is not very impressive. Perhaps you should take your own childish behavior to "the sandbox." Or perhaps you should stick to the penis page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cartwheel99 (talk • contribs) 21:17, 23 May 2008 (UTC)

- Well that message was left back in February. As you are not logged in you are assigned an IP Address which may be shared so it could be that you're getting the message from another person. If you don't want to be bothered with these messages again you can sign up for your own username, then you will only see the messages that are sent to you. Say, what...?
Why would anyone think this article needed speedy deletion? Should we expect the deletion of the Hells Angels, Crips, Bloods, etc? Are we going to delete every article that discusses street gangs, or is it the suggest was made by someone with an aversion to crime? Long-time users of Wikipedia should know by know that we don't live in Disneyland. --CubBC (talk) 06:14, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- You would suggest speedy deletion of those articles if the Hells Angels, etc, etc didn't exist[3]. How about you assume good faith from a long time user rather than trying to be clever? --Deadly∀ssassin 06:17, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- My apologies. The article looked so real, new but real, like most articles probably start out looking!! At least I can rest assured my dumb-ass comment will disappear when the article is deleted!! --CubBC (talk) 07:05, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- And for my part sorry for snapping. :) --Deadly∀ssassin 09:55, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
username
I know this subject was broached before, but I do not see that it was resolved.
Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!
I hope not to seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: promotes violence, and is potentially offensive and/or disruptive. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?
I'd appreciate learning your own views, for instance your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.
You have several options freely available to you:
- If you can relieve my concern through discussing it here, I can stop worrying about it.
- If the two of us can't agree here, we can ask for help through Wikipedia's dispute resolution process, such as requesting comments from other Wikipedians. Wikipedia administrators usually abide by agreements reached through this process.
- You can keep your contributions history under a new username. Visit Wikipedia:Changing username and follow the guidelines there.
Thank you. Kingturtle (talk) 18:04, 15 May 2008 (UTC)
- My username doesn't promote anything - violence or otherwise - and is neither offensive nor disruptive. I do not intend to change it. --Deadly∀ssassin 20:35, 15 May 2008 (UTC)

Overturn Please ,In both Talk and again in the page itself his Notability was expressed He has been the attorney of many people already listed on Wikipedia and has many Articles written about him in the Press. This was noted on the page i created and in the Talk about Wallace Collins Esq.
His whole family has been Lawyers and his Grandfather was a famaous Lawyer during the Prohibition years. --Hermit711 (talk) 16:19, 18 May 2008 (UTC)
I have also countered Spellcasters comments below:
Wallace Collins, Esq. Deletion
I believe you have not and did not research this individual completely or correctly as per your comments. He is a Lawyer and My Lawyer and i am very happy with what he has done for me and that is why i entered him in this Wikipedia, because i believed he deserved it and he is a recording artist
As far as his being a recording artist : His band was THE DYNOMITERS They were featured in 16 Magazine and other teen magazines and got press in the trades we were signed to Epic Records in 76 the most notable song was "Rock & Roll President"
I have read your Comments and reasons for deletion and find them to be prejurative and unfair this was neither Spam or Advertising he has done many cases and made Copyright Law. It is very easy to Spout nonsense and vitriol under an assumed id, i ask that you read the sources that he has on his page and if The NY TImes and Post and DMA and various industry pubs are not good enough for you then i do not understand.
