Speedy deletion of Jeremy Wu

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Jeremy Wu requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hiya Dboy3587!

I just reverted the edit that you made to this article. There are two issues:

1. I invite you to check out other articles on schools, and I think you will agree that no alum in any of the thousands of articles that has been written about a school gets a full biography like that on the school page.

2. The generally accepted standard for inclusion in a list of a school's alumni is that the person should either be the subject of their own Wikipedia article, or that the person should be eligible for an article under notability guidelines. In any event, there must exist a reliable source that clearly states that the person in question attended the school. Sources identifying what the person "did" should be in the article about the person. The relevant wikipedia policies governing this can be found at:

I hope this helps to explain things. Best of luck with your future editing. LonelyBeacon (talk) 16:39, 21 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello again Dboy,

The edit which you so insistently keep adding is a very lofty claim that borders on the fantastic. This doesn't make it false, but here, claims of this nature must be verified. Wikipedia's policy on verification is one of the core policies of this website. Further attempts to readd this material without a reliable source will be reverted. I also strongly encourage you to examine another core policy: regarding three reverts to an article in less than 24 hours. An offense against this policy can lead to an account being blocked without further warning.

If there is truth to this claim, confirm it with a reliable source. Otherwise, please do not continue to readding it. LonelyBeacon (talk) 03:15, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Dboy, I had to check out the reference you left (honestly, I think this is unbelievable .... I've never heard of a school doing this before), and found that the link was broken ...... could you double check that you typed it in correctly? Do not repeatedly reinsert your edits to George S. Parker High School when in dispute. Continuing to do so is highly disruptive to wikipedia and will lead to your account being blocked for edit warring or violating the 3-revert rule. Please use the article talk page for George S. Parker High School to discuss your edits with other users. Thank you. – Zedla (talk) 04:53, 29 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
