Infoboxes

[edit]

Hi there, the "small table located to the right" you're looking for is an Infobox, if I've understood you correctly. The easiest way to add this is:

  1. click "edit source" on the article (not just "edit"). If you only have an "edit" button, click that, then click the pencil icon in the upper right corner and select "source editor". (Working in Source Editor makes it easier to put the infobox in the right place, imo.)
  2. place your typing cursor on the line immediately above the first line of actual article text. ie, right above where it says '''The Ocean Beach People’s Organic Food Market''' is a [[food cooperative]].
  3. click on the puzzle-piece-shaped icon that is on the top of the edit window. This opens the template wizard.
  4. type in "Infobox company" and select that option.
  5. you can now individually check off the options you want to use from the scrolling list to the left of this window, or you can select "add all parameters". (If you do the second, it won't break if you leave some blank, so don't worry about it too much. It just looks untidy.)
  6. fill in the information you want to include.
  7. press the blue "insert" button in the top right of this window.

If you want to edit the information after you've hit "insert", you can do this directly in the Source Editor very easily. If for some reason you would rather use that window again, I don't know if you can open it from Source Editor - so switch back to Visual Editor the same way you got to Source in the first place, then click on the infobox and hit "edit". -- asilvering (talk) 19:06, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
