It is a Vietnamese name and I don't believe that it is offensive. DatBichPhuc (talk) 02:25, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
- I understand and apologize for the confusion; the name is similar to the offensive phrasee "that bitch"; I'm not sure how you want to proceed, but the name has been automatically listed at the usernames for attention page; you may wish to post a message there, but if you keep this name, others will likely see what I did. 331dot (talk) 02:33, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
- I'm not sure how to proceed, I'd prefer to use the name, but am willing to change it to something that is similar. Other combinations are both phonetically more offensive in English and make less sense natively. I would be open to changing Phuc to Phuoc since they are just regional variations, leading to DatBichPhuoc. The only word I would be comfortable with removing would be Phuc, but since I tried to sign up already without this part of my name and it was taken, I do not believe this is a solution. - If I were you I might post underneath the entry for this username at WP:UAA so that admins are aware of this situation and know what you have said here. They may have suggestions that I don't know of, or they might even just say it's OK to leave it alone. I might leave this text here in the meantime so that others who might see what I did will learn why this is the way it is. I'm not sure what would cause the least problems for you. 331dot (talk) 02:46, 22 November 2015 (UTC)
- Do you claim that this is your own name, as opposed to something you found in the internet? You are not entitled to have some offensive name such as this one just because someone else once had the same name. Edison (talk) 04:22, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
- This is my name, I use a different first name with English speakers but I would prefer to use my birth name. DatBichPhuc (talk) 04:29, 23 November 2015 (UTC)
