Some input from a Dutch speaker

Hi there; I found you through Category:User nl-N. I'm in need of someone that speaks Dutch; I'm hopeful you can help. I've been doing some rewrites of Rensselaerswyck- and patroon-related articles; I hope to soon get an article together for reach patroon. The area of New Netherland was more affected by Dutch influences than British, so many of our local names are derived or copied from Dutch names. I'd like to add a pronunciation guide in all the Rensselaer-related articles. Here in Rensselaer County (my home), and at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (my alma mater), we pronounce "Rensselaer" as either RENS-lur or Rens-uh-LEER. Can you confirm if this is indeed how it's pronounced in Dutch and whether or not you think the pronunciation may have changed since Kiliaen van Rensselaers's time (1600s)? I do speak Dutch. I'd pronounce Rensselaer as ˈrɛnselaːr, tough most people would shorten it to ˈrɛnslaːr. (definitly not as renslur)

patroon as ˈpɑtron(it's a Dutch word) and Rensselaerswyck as ˈrɛnselaːrˌwɪjk as it probably comes from the word wijk. But since the Rensel is in holland (I didn't know this, I looked op Rensel) pronounce it as ˈrɛnselaːrˌwɛjk .
