Sourcing

[edit]

I have reverted your edits on 2015 International Darts Open. It looks like you are promoting your own website (accidentality the same as your user name?) Beside that, it does not look like a reliable source. The Banner talk 07:53, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, so you are not after 100% correct stats then? I have edited the same stats again and this time removed the source. I have a huge collection of stats and they are mostly from the sources itself. The PDC have a lot of errors in their stats in the first years and up to a few years ago, that is why I edit them to make sure Wikipedia is 100% correct. Instead of slaying my website as a unreliable source, you should check and see what Darts for Windows is. It is the official scoring and stats app for both World Darts Federation and the BDO and more (this is not promotion, it's fact). DartsforWindows (talk) 08:15, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy or request a change of username.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. Additionally, If you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for your contributions to Wikipedia, you must disclose who is paying you to edit.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text

{{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}

at the bottom of your talk page. Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names.

 Thank you. Drmies (talk) 13:46, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Your username is obviously in violation of our policy. The Banner makes a valid point: you seem to be here to promote that website. Above, you deflect the question by trying to focus on the site's reliability--but that does not depend on your say-so, but rather on an investigation of the facts and a finding by the community. Maybe you're right about some official status, maybe not. Either way, that's for editors at WP:RSN to decide; Banner, please consider taking it there. And even if it turns out to be reliable, a. that username is unacceptable; b. you clearly have a conflict of interest (you said it was your website) and thus should act according to the rules, including Wikipedia:Conflict_of_interest#How_to_disclose_a_COI. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 13:51, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I did not know about the rule so instead I will delete my account, I don't want to contribute, I thought I was helping by correcting crappy stats and misleading information, but I was obviously not. DartsforWindows (talk) 14:46, 18 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{unblock-un|Dartsforfun180|reason=My account was blocked after 4 years, did not know about the name policy [[User:DartsforWindows|DartsforWindows]] ([[User talk:DartsforWindows#top|talk]]) 15:21, 18 July 2019 (UTC)}}

  • That would be an acceptable username, but you indicate that you want to delete your account. Deleting accounts is not possible; they can be abandoned- which if you want to do that, there is no need to rename your account. If you do want to be unblocked, you will also need to review WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 21:31, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who accepted the request.

Requested username:

Request reason:

My account was blocked after 4 years, did not know about the name policy DartsforWindows (talk) 15:21, 18 July 2019 (UTC)

Accept reason:

I have renamed your account from DartsforWindows to Dartsforfun180. The blocking administrator chose to give your user name as the only reason for the block, so there is no longer any reason for the block, so I will unblock. However, please bear in mind that, whatever user name you use, you must edit in conformity with the guideline on conflict of interest; if you do otherwise, you may be blocked again. COI

[edit]

It is common to declare any Conflict of Interest on the user page. Certainly regarding the earlier mentioned website, that looks advisable. The Banner talk 09:58, 21 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
