Really? I might end up there when I go to uni, but I'm quite a while away from that though. Anyway, I hope you decide to stay here. Cheers Ashnard Talk Contribs 11:52, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Smash Bros Brawl - positive/negative reviews

[edit]

Positive points

[edit]
  • Graphics (character models)
  • Wide variety/selection of music tracks
  • Great multiplayer
  • Replay value/lasting power (due to multiplayer, stage builder, daily content etc.)
  • Amount of content
  • Refines the tried-and-true Smash formula / gameplay more smooth and balanced

Negative points

[edit]

Major critic complaints

[edit]
  • Too similar to predecessors / lack of innovation
  • Subspace Emissary mode underwhelming (both in enemy and stage design)
  • Long loading times
  • Unstable/laggy online / limited functionality (only FFAs, no customizations)
  • Graphics (some have criticised stages)

Minor critic complaints

[edit]
  • Stages aren't innovative enough (although i'd say the pictochat and warioware ones are...)
  • Stage Editor restrictive / lots of limitations
  • Random trophies/stickers lead to frustration in collecting them all / inflate game length
  • Some challenges serve only to inflate game length (play 100 hours of brawls, beat every mode w/every character, etc.)
  • Some new modes serve only as filler/VC advertising (Masterpieces, Chronicles)
  • Hard for folks who aren't interested in Nintendo history to get into (GiantBomb)
  • Doesn't really take advantage of the Wii's motion-sensing controls

Fan complaints

[edit]
  • Roster size/selection
  • Brawl physics/mechanics (tripping, etc.)

I was speaking to Ashnard when I called him JT. I wouldn't call you JT in response to a post where I'm actually getting someone to work with me on this instead of hiding behind some guideline. - A Link to the Past (talk) 21:15, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Just for the record, would you care to restate your opinion on the matter? - A Link to the Past (talk) 23:55, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I've noticed you are a user who has frequntly edits Wii U. I thought it was inappropriate to immediately start criticizing the system in the first paragraph as was previously done. A week or so ago I moved some of the criticism down into the reception section and immediately started a discussion about it on the talk page. So far only one other user has joined the discussion. I was wondering if you could leave some input there.
