Image tagging for Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

Calerway

[edit]
With regard to your article Calerway, please have a read of WP:ATT to see what Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for content are. In general articles need to be referenced by multiple reliable sources independent of the subject and each other. Also, see Wikipedia's guidelines on notability. For the article to be kept, it should meet this guideline. Cheers, Mattinbgn/ talk 09:28, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
It may be easier to contact me on my talk page (click "talk" at the end of my sig). Try looking for mentions of Calaway in the music press, online or print, or evidence of appearance on music playlist such as Rage, TripleJ or JTV. See WP:BAND for more help and see if you can get the article to meet any of the criteria shown. Cheers, Mattinbgn/ talk 12:04, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Another note: You can sign your messages by putting four tildes (~~~~) at the end of each message. Now if you are to look at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Deletion_sorting/Australia and see the format that is used in discussions. If you want to keep the article then put keep at the start of your message at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Calerway and the reason why you think it should be kept and don't forget to sign it. If you can find evidence it has been played on TripleJ, include that in the article with a source and I would reconsider my nomination. Cheers, Mattinbgn/ talk 12:19, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I have attempted to assist you in editing your article of Calerway - I have also put forward my arguements as to why the article does meet the notability criteria - am happy to help out if you have any queries. Dan arndt 03:53, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the help man, some errors with the first lineup as you put put Sherron as the first member as the band, as it was Cam, but he left after to continue wih his band Last Yeras hero, but then returned when LYH broke up. Sherron was just a touring member and did not record any music with the band.

Not a problem - if you need any help on any other articles you decide to do let me know Dan arndt 10:07, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Is it Jean Paul or Jaun Paul as I have seen two different variations on different websites? Dan arndt 04:22, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nah it's Jaun for sure. (Darkside05 08:06, 4 June 2007 (UTC))[reply]

On the Valet Records website - it indicates Jean Paul but as you have a greater knowledge of the band I accept that it is Jaun Paul Dan arndt 00:12, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Jusjih 15:56, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:A Letter of Credence.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 06:37, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:CalerwaySingle07.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CalerwaySingle07.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Replaceable fair use Image:Calerway.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Calerway.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- moe.RON Let's talk | done 02:04, 10 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Calerway videos

[edit]

See WP:YOUTUBE or more specifically Wikipedia:Copyrights. Nothing that may contain copyrighted material may not be linked to like that. Songs and music videos contain copyrights to the band and to the record label, it doesn't matter who made the upload. — Moe ε 08:18, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unless you can either prove:
1) That Boomtown Records or Calerway doesn't own a copyright on thier music or music videos
Or 2) See that YouTube (not the user on YouTube, the website itself) got permission to use the videos from the owners of the copyrighted material (which they generally don't)
The links won't be restored. Claiming you know them doesn't quite keep copyright vios away. — Moe ε 10:11, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WWE vs WWF

[edit]

When the pay-per-views you are editing were aired, the promotion was still called World Wrestling Federation and thus the articles are styled as such. Also, there never was such a thing as the WWE Light Heavyweight Championship, it goes to a redirect. Please stop changing it. Tony2Times (talk) 13:46, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We don't see it on the official website because WWE are bound by a law that Wikipedia, as an encylopedia, is not bound to. The mentions of WWF and World Wrestling Federation as an entity are always linked and if users click there, they can see when and why the name change happened. But seeing as at the time it was WWF, that's what we write. If you look on WWE.com under the Royal Rumble history page you'll notice it doesn't list the 2004 winner. Does that mean we should not list Chris Benoit, even though it happened, because of political wrangling and pressure inside the WWE? The same applies for the name change. AfD nomination of MyLOL

[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is MyLOL. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/MyLOL (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:05, 28 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Cooked TV has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unremarkable homemade TV show being presented on community access (not commercial) TV.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. I have nominated Cooked TV, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cooked TV. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for uploading File:Doom-logo.png. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 10:11, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
