Unspecified source for Image:Aquarena Sky Tower.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Aquarena Sky Tower.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 00:52, 29 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use Image:Aquarena_Sky_Tower.jpg

[edit]
Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:Aquarena_Sky_Tower.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that fair use images which could be replaced by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted 7 days after this notification, per our Fair Use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 09:47, 13 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:CVU status

[edit]

The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you! Orphaned non-free media (Image:African stig preview.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:African stig preview.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 15:37, 20 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. English variety changes

[edit]

Please see Wikipedia:Manual of Style#National varieties of English. Thank you! —David Levy 15:43, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

October 2008

[edit]

In a recent edit to the page MacBook, you changed one or more words from one international variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For subjects exclusively related to Britain (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to other English-speaking countries, such as Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, use the appropriate variety of English used there. If it is an international topic, use the same form of English the original author used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to the other, even if you don't normally use the version the article is written in. Respect other people's versions of English. They in turn should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. If you have any queries about all this, you can ask me on my talk page or you can visit the help desk. Thank you. Nja247 (talkcontribs) 16:03, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia's no personal attacks policy. Comment on content, not on contributors. Personal attacks damage the community and deter users. Note that continued personal attacks will lead to blocks for disruption. Please stay cool and keep this in mind while editing. Thank you.--Jojhutton (talk) 02:32, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Macbook

[edit]

The issue seemed to be resolved after Jason A. Quest referenced WP:POINT, yet you and Jojohutton continued to battle each other. Can we please get back to spreading human knowledge and stop fighting? Please? --Terrillja (talk) 03:53, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and dude? I can be biased if I damn well want to. I'm American, and pretty damn proud of it. I don't prefer British English, and it seems others don't as well. You say for me to drop my bias against using UK English, except you're biased against using US English. --(GameShowKid)--(talk)--(evidence)-- 04:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

MacBook Discussion

[edit]

The discussion is closed. Please refrain from editing it further. If you continue, it will be counted as vandalism. I think it's a good place to stop arguing. You've had your say as has everyone, but the outcome is to keep it as is. --(GameShowKid)--(talk)--(evidence)-- 04:48, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your only warning.
The next time you make a personal attack as you did at User_talk:GSK, you will be blocked for disruption. Comment on content, not on other contributors or people. (GameShowKid)--(talk)--(evidence)-- 05:03, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, and the link you provided is for the UK Apple site, not the US Apple site. Seeing as Apple, Inc. is an American-based company, US English spelling should be used. End of discussion. I'm getting really tired of you. --(GameShowKid)--(talk)--(evidence)-- 05:06, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Excellent points.. however -- I was not attacking you. Learn what a personal attack is, then try again. Good luck. Oh, and if you're gonna call me by my name, call me GSK. Thanks. --(GameShowKid)--(talk)--(evidence)-- 05:16, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
