Differences

[edit]

Well, let me start by saying that I hate to write this since I am not one of those guys that stand up again if someone destroys their work for no apparant reason. Nevertheless I will try.
I am sorry I can not write on the discussion page of the article in question instead of here about your edit . You made a proposal to delete List of commercial Linux games and categorize it instead. As I learned, it seems you meant to integrate the listed games in the Category:Linux games instead. Well, how should I say this..? I know you develop on Java but that should not refrain you from understanding that Linux games and commercial Linux games are not the same. If you need an example to understand this: On The Linux Game Tome are over 2000 entries but only about 150 of those are commercial games. -- Darklock 13:30, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I proposed deletion of all three of those lists because they were not being maintained properly and because Wikipedia is not a repository of lists, particularly lists of articles that do not exist. I did follow the proper process, the deletion was uncontested for five days, and an admin deleted it, not me. Go ahead and create a "commercial Linux games" category if you like and tag all articles about commercial games. I've stopped editing Wikipedia but saw this old note and thought it would be polite to reply to you. Chris Pickett 11:08, 8 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,I see you were puzzled about the category sorting here. It seems to me that someone had "fixed" the sorting earlier without knowing the implications, and when you got around there, the resulting mess looked just confusingly redundant. Originally, the Ultima games had sorting keys like "Ultima 07" so that they will get properly sorted even when MediaWiki doesn't know anything about Roman numerals; it seems that a while ago, someone had just got confused about that non-standard name and changed it to have the actual game names, which is wrong because it is just a sorting key and isn't actually displayed anywhere until you hit Edit. I've re-added them around so that things will work again. Hope this clears things up. =) --wwwwolf (barks/growls) 17:51, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well that explains it. -- Darklock 17:57, 30 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that the above has been moved to User:Darklock/User boxes since it was meant to be part of your user space. --Metropolitan90 06:21, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I should not have stood up all night. -- Darklock 06:36, 10 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
A goddess descends to your talk page

Hi, I noticed your username appears on this category and would like to invite you to take part in a general improvement drive on all articles relevant to Oh My Goddess! including character articles, episode articles and others. -- Cat chi? 20:51, 9 October 2007 (UTC)

All computer games are video games, please do not move pages such as Ballistics (video game), disambiguating it further is unnecessary. There are some guidelines at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Video_games/Article_guidelines#Disambiguation that you may or may not want to follow, but (video game) is generally used for consistency. I had just started reverting your redirects and links, but then I remembered Wikipedia:RDR#Do_not_change_links_to_redirects_that_are_not_broken. - hahnchen 18:57, 5 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject Germany Invitation

[edit]

Hello, Darklock! I'd like to call your attention to the WikiProject Germany and the German-speaking Wikipedians' notice board. I hope their links, sub-projects and discussions are interesting and even helpful to you. If not, I hope that new ones will be.

Any connection?  :) Dreadstar 05:19, 28 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I noticed that you have revised either Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri or Sid Meier's Alien Crossfire.

I intend to revise those articles following the Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Article guidelines. There are more details on the discussion pages of those articles. I'd be interested in any comments you have. It would be best if your comments were on the discussion pages of the two articles.

Thank you.
