This is not meant to be vandalized at all.

I was accused of vandalizing the Isaiah 53 article, and I think this is a mistake. I don't know every command in Wiki. Please reconsider my suggestions.

I have presented a change that is pretty mainstream in Orthodox Circles. I have also, not altered the Christian view at all.

My Changes are as follows:

1. Take out the quote of Isaiah 53 in the KJV and Judaica Press. This is an Encyclopedia, not a Christian Missionary debate. You don't need to have the full text, glaring at people if they want to research further, they can, in references and links.

2. Fixed up the comment about where section breaks end. It is incorrect that Jews agree with the Christian divisions. This is clear from a simple look at Isaiah 52-53 on an actual Scroll.

3. Judaism agrees that Isaiah 52:13 and 53:6 COULD refer to a Messiah - this Messiah is not a suffering Messiah, but is exalted. (Cf. 52:14-15).

4. My citation to http://www.virtualyeshiva.com/counter/isaiah53a.swf and http://www.virtualyeshiva.com/counter/isaiah53b.swf Should help to clarify these points.

5. Mainstream Judaism understands that Isaiah 53 refers to the Nation of Israel because that is the simple meaning of the verses, based on context. Its not like Jews dreamed up this theory in the 11th Century, It is based solidly on the text.

6. This is evident from the Context (Isaiah 46, 48), and references in the Talmud (Berachos 5a)

7. I am not the original source for these citations that were quoted from "Come and hear", I do not use "Come and hear", these were part of the original article when I edited it. Before you decide to take my changes out, confirm that what I changed was in fact not part of the original article.
