Saratoga battlefield moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Saratoga battlefield, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, Dannysullivan12417,
If you move your student draft to the main space or to project space (Wikipedia), it will be tagged for deletion. It is inadequate, it has no sources and is obviously not ready to be published in main space. We have been moving it to Draft space where you can continue to improve it but if you persist, I think the next editor or administrator who reviews the page will just have it deleted. Please work on these incomplete efforts in User space (like your Sandbox) or Draft space. It is not necessary for you to put your page into main space to get a grade in your class and if the page is deleted, your efforts will be wasted. Please do not ignore other editors who are trying to help you keep your page from being deleted.
If you have questions, please bring them to your instructor or the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 14:17, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Note that Wikipedia already has a fairly lengthy Battles of Saratoga article. Your draft appears to duplicate what's there. In addition, of course, your draft lacks inline references and isn't written in a style that's appropriate for an encyclopaedia article. If you want to continue to work on this topic, I recommend that you read the existing article carefully and try to identify anything that's lacking from it. Then find reliable sources and work on filling any gaps. But please make sure to maintain the style and tone of the existing article if you find anything to add - it's already a Good Article, so it's very important that the style and quality to maintained.
I do think it would be better for you to work on another topic, even at this stage. It will be difficult to find anything to add to the existing article, since it is already quite well developed. Ian (Wiki Ed) (talk) 14:38, 23 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
