I have removed the date of birth that you added to Eric Christian Olsen. Although no source was cited, your edit summary said, "Added birthday to article. (Information gathered from IMDB: https://m.imdb.com/name/nm0647638/"). Unfortunately, IMDb is not a reliable source for the content of articles in Wikipedia. You might want to read WP:IMDB for more on that topic.
You are welcome to add a date of birth if it comes from a valid source. If you do so, please put a citation after the date rather than confining it to the edit summary. Readers should be able to see the source of content from footnotes without having to search edit summaries. Eddie Blick (talk) 19:20, 13 July 2022 (UTC)
Thank you for letting me know, I’m sort of new to Wikipedia and I wasn’t aware that IMDb isn’t a valid source. Danny02567 (talk) 17:31, 14 July 2022 (UTC)
- You're welcome. It takes a little while to learn which sources are reliable and which are not. The problem with IMDb and some other web sites is that they (like Wikipedia) contain content posted by users. You might want to look at WP:USERGENERATED for comments about this topic and names of some other sites to avoid as sources. Eddie Blick (talk) 01:42, 15 July 2022 (UTC)
