Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Danielanghan, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Kamantan people

[edit]

You have good faith intentions with this article, but you're kind of going about it in the wrong way. Why don't you take some time to read up on some of Wikipedia policies and how things are done here before you continue trying to make edits? I've left a bunch of a links on your talk page that should be useful and I've protected the page to prevent further disruption from you for a few days while you do some reading. Good luck. Thank you

I appreciate the article you have written, pls can I add more information to the page pls it will interest you know that I'm the son of the soil that have relevant information that will aslo help the public when they search from this site. thank you Danielanghan (talk) 18:41, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Danielanghan, you really need to read up on Wikipedia first. There are quite a few issues with the edits that you are trying to make, including, but not limited to: unsourced statements, the formatting of your content, overuse of wikilinks, and just general unencyclopedic content (e.g. the "Nghian Language" - at least for this article). If after the page gets unprotected, and you still continue to make these edits, I'll probably have to block you from editing the article altogether, because competence is required to edit here and right now, you're not demonstrating that you have firm grasp of what you're doing... yet. I have gone through the wikipedia page, please what is the next step? Danielanghan (talk) 19:25, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Read all the links on this page. Not the article. This page. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:53, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I've moved your user page here: User:Danielanghan/sandbox. This needs a lot of work before it can be used in an article. It needs sources and you can remove a lot of the information you have as it's unnecessary and unencyclopedic. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 19:56, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

ok, I will thanks Danielanghan (talk) 20:00, 28 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Daniel, what information do you wish to add? Do you have reliable sources to source all the content? Jauerbackdude?/dude. 18:01, 29 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

You want to tell the world about something and you are the expert...

[edit]

Greetings, Daniel Usman! Your sandbox starts out telling about the Kamantan people, or Anghan people. Then you plunge in and start teaching the language. You need to understand a few things:

  • Being a person of the soil does not make you the best person to tell the world about your people on Wikipedia. This is because Wikipedia does not consist of original research, but is rather a concise retelling of what reliable, published sources have already stated elsewhere. Any good researcher anywhere in the world who knows English can write an English Wikipedia article about almost any topic.
  • Wikipedia already has an article about the Kamantan people. If you have access to reliable sources and want to improve it, you may do so, as long as you cite your sources properly, according to Wikipedia's instructions for inline citations.
  • Wikipedia articles should have a single topic for which reliable, published sources exist. You seem to want to write an Angham Encyclopedia. Wikipedia articles don't give undue weight to a subject, but rather summarize what has been written and point the reader to venues for further information acquisition.
  • If you want to write an article on the language spoken by the Anghan people, you can create the article, but, unlike other topics, Wikipedia has very strict standards for our language articles. See Yoruba language, and note that it is written from a professional linguist's point of view. It's in no way a means of teaching people to speak Yoruba; it's an academic assessment of Yoruba as a language. You may not have the academic background to write such an article. Wikipedia already has a very short article called Kamantan language; it's also known as Nghan. This article needs expansion. Please read Your first article and all that it links to, if you would like to write any article for Wikipedia.
  • Entrepreneurs are strongly discouraged from using Wikipedia as a means of promotion. See What Wikipedia is not.

Thanks for your interest and welcome to Wikipedia.--Quisqualis (talk) 07:09, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Qwerfjkl. An edit that you recently made to Wikipedia talk:Teahouse seemed to be a test and has been reverted. If you want to practice editing, please use your sandbox. Stop icon
You have been blocked indefinitely from editing certain pages (Kamantan language and Kamantan people) for abuse of editing privileges.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Jauerbackdude?/dude. 18:49, 1 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
At this point, it's clear that you not only do not know what you're doing, but you are refusing to listen to the advice given on your talk page. You won't be able to edit either of the the Kamantan language or Kamantan people articles until you demonstrate otherwise. I would suggest starting out small on an entirely different article. I'm very tempted to just outright block you for editing altogether for WP:CIR, but I'm really hoping that this will force you to learn a bit more before you making more substantial edits.
