It's a bad idea to write about yourself

[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 01:33, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello C. Fred. Thanks for the heads up. For quick clarification, I have not written an article about myself but I have pulled it together for the artist who I am a fan of, referencing over 20 citations pointing to his work including 4 Grammy nominations. Thank you so much for pointing out the specific attention to criteria around 'notable.

I will spend time looking for anything that may not see seem like an accurate adjust accordingly. I am using the same references as the existing artist profiles below: AllMusic Guide, IMDB, Discogs etc. In fact we have quite strong references including two links to the NYTIMES and one NPR.

Upon reviewing existing artist links the page I created is in line with many artist bios on wikipedia like: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Steve_Coleman https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Adrian_Lee https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Johnny_Alegre

Thanks again for bringing it to my attention. —DanielSegneri2020

Zé Luis Oliveira

[edit]

Please don't move Zé Luis Oliveira. As per WP:Article Titles, especially WP:Article Titles#Precision and disambiguation, the title should be at the simplest form possible. There is only one Zé Luis Oliveira on Wikipedia so there is no need for Zé Luis Oliveira (composer) or anything like that. Thanks. Please explain your relation to Zé Luis Oliveira article

[edit]

Hi. I've added COI tag to your article Zé Luis Oliveira. Please explain your relation to it and why do you want it to be searchable at Google. Please note that if you edit this article for money such edits should be declared (undeclared paid editing violates Wikipedia terms of use). You can find more information here - WP:COI. -- Bbarmadillo (talk) 07:46, 8 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for clarifying. As mentioned before I'm a fan of Brazilian music, saxophone and of Zé Luis. There is no intention to monetize simply to educate other fans of Brazilian music the place that Zé Luis Oliveira has in the history of the music. With a goal of making sure that content is "disseminated effectively and globally" I believe making that content searchable on google is critical what allows it to be found globally. This is wikipedia's mission statement. I respect your role of monitoring people who have intentions to somehow monetize and self promote. Yet, my goal as an editor is I want others to find it and add to the article. Now they are prevented from doing that as other unrelated Zé Luis listings arise in the google search.

Zé is already now listed among the biggest names in Brazilian saxophone history in Wikipedia here: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Category:Brazilian_saxophonists

Please advise and thanks so much for the guidance.
