Hi there
[edit]Hello Dan; a couple of things which you may not be aware of:
- we don't normally put full stops on the end of photo captions, see MOS:CAPTIONS.
- when you create links to other pages such as BR or Class 66, please check them to make sure that they are not what we call "disambiguation pages" (also known as "dab pages") - try them and see. In these two cases the correct links would have been
[[British Rail|BR]]
and[[British Rail Class 66|Class 66]]
respectively, which display as BR and Class 66. Try them, by way of comparison to the first two.

[edit]Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. When you make a change to an article, please provide an edit summary, which you forgot to do before saving your recent edit to Winter of 2009–2010 in Europe. Doing so helps everyone to understand the intention of your edit. It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Trafford09 (talk) 00:42, 20 August 2010 (UTC)
Red links
[edit]Hi Dan; I see that you have removed a number of redlinks from articles. This is not always the best practice, see WP:REDDEAL. For instance, this edit - there really was a railway named "Bedford and Cambridge Railway" (formed 1860, absorbed by LNWR 1865), we just haven't got around to writing the article yet. --Redrose64 (talk) 15:44, 21 August 2010 (UTC)
Post boxes
[edit]I see you have been adding several images to Pillar box, Ludlow wall box and Lamp box and wonder if there is some point of having duplicates of the same style box in the galleries. While the images are nice, one example of any single identifiable style should really be enough because its addition contributes nothing to the reader's understanding of the topic which is the essential point of any edit to the encyclopaedia. It may even encourage other editors to keep adding different images of the same style. We are about the prose illustrated by appropriate images and not just a picture gallery so you may find it useful to refer to WP:IG. ww2censor (talk) 13:08, 23 August 2010 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Disambiguation link notification for July 31
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited The Adventures of Robin Hood (TV series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Good Life (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
