Good Neighbor Trail

Croom, Florida, was roughly along the Withlacoochee River just north of where the I-75 bridge over Croom-Rital Road and Withlacoochee State Trail is today. I don't think I'd consider that to be a ghost town, because it still has residents, mostly with farms. ---------User:DanTD (talk) 02:13, 1 May 2014 (UTC)

It's not a big deal, but I don't know why you insist on titling a single link to a website as an external link instead of a website. I don't think "external link" is helpful to the reader. It's always better to be useful and more accurate. There's also something to be said for respecting the desires of the creator of a particular article. But like I said, it's not a big deal. I hear ya, I think I did the same thing when someone else put website as a title. But then I actually though about it and I decided that that the titling should be logical and helpful and that if we follow standards that aren't helpful to our readers we aren't doing our best. I would say the article is ripe for expansion. I was surprised how significant the ferry stop once was with the brooksville line being merely a branch. Crazy how things change. I saw some cool videos on youtube of people exploring the abandoned cemeteries up that way. Probably should have added them as external links. Thank for all your good work. Two more pending NRHP noms on the Island

The upcoming SHPB meeting has two more potential nominations from your neck of the woods:

• John Mollenhauer House, 60 Awixa Avenue, Bay Shore. A rare (apparently) example of a Shingle Style estate on the South Shore that also was one of the pioneering summer residences in that area. Seems like you could get a decent photo from the road.
• William Landsberg House, 5 Tianderah Road, Port Washington. Modernist home of prominent American architect in that style.

So, a big zigzag across Nassau County from the other one, assuming you do them both on the same day. Doesn't sound too hard. Daniel Case (talk) 20:53, 28 May 2014 (UTC)

SunRail

I added the LYNX bus logo to the connections sections of Winter Park (Amtrak station). Not sure if it is the proper way to do things, as I can't find an example of another station using bus logos in the connections like that, but I like how it looks so far. What's your opinion, and if you think it's okay, any ideas how to make it look a bit cleaner? (I don't like the word wrap in particular).- Aalox (Say Hello • My Work) 11:39, 30 May 2014 (UTC)

Unwritten State Road articles list

I didn't even know this existed! Nice!

Anyway, I was looking at the Iowa part of the list. We can probably just delete the whole section now. The only redlink there, 460, was a temporary designation after Avenue of the Saints was widened to four lanes. 296, 431, and 930 are the same story, but they redirect to the pertinent articles. 116, 376, 438, 922, and 926 are all business routes that redirect to the right spot, and all the other articles exist. –Fredddie™ 07:08, 15 June 2014 (UTC)

    • Got'cha. I don't think I'd delete the whole section, but I would like to see some more coverage of the former/hidden state routes on the articles they're redirected to.       • Draft:U.S. Route 34 in Iowa exists because I made it. The Iowa 340 article now exists as its pre-2003 route, but the number was reused when US 34 was four-laned over the last 10 years. If you're interested in former state highways, 2003 Iowa highway jurisdictional transfer has a bunch and I started Draft:1980 Iowa highway jurisdictional transfer; however, I'd caution on making most of those a full-fledged articles. The vast majority of the 2003 routes were short spurs into small towns that ended at the post office or city hall. The ones cut loose in 1980 were spurs into even smaller towns than in 2003. –Fredddie™ 20:21, 15 June 2014 (UTC)
