Re: I-95 in Connecticut redlink that shouldn't exist

I removed that posting from WT:RJL. That talk page is related to the Manual of Style section on "road junction lists", and it isn't really the appropriate place for a minor issue confined to one article. I commented on Talk:Interstate 95 in Connecticut that I fixed it. In short, {{jctplace}}, etc need the state specified when defining a location, something that {{CTint}} doesn't need. (CTint knows it's CT, but jctint or jctplace need that defined.) Imzadi 1979 → 02:29, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

I thought it was also for troubleshooting with junctions, or could at least be used that way. Plus, I wasn't 100% sure it would've been fixed if I posted it on the I-95 in CT talk page. But thanks for fixing it anyhow. ----DanTD (talk) 02:32, 13 January 2012 (UTC)

The top of that talk page says: "This is the talk page for discussing improvements to the Manual of Style/Road junction lists page." Another option, for visibility, would have been WT:USRD. WT:RJL doesn't concern itself with the templates because in general, the MOS doesn't require, request or forbid the usage of specific templates to achieve its results. Surely you're not suggesting that the removal of errant redliniks isn't an improvement, are you? I went to WT:USRD, and the header states the following; "If you would like to discuss route junction lists, please use WT:RJL." How does one redlink impact the standard by which such tables are judged? It's like calling the regulation-writing people at the EPA to report that you broke a mercury thermometer, when really you just needed to call the disposal guys at your local county waste management agency. Just wanted to thank you for the LOL, as I was reading the edits of the Melrose_(Metro-North_station) page. It is nice to know that you considered my site's information worthy of being posted... as another editor felt that any outside links on any Metro-North pages were inappropriate (ie, the "tours" posted by myself and subwaynut). I hope he had fun editing every single page to remove the links (despite some of them being there for years). Your links are better suited as reference links more than anything else. I'm not comfortable with the that editor removing links when they can be useful, and I know that you've got more than just pictures on your pages. Any chance of some exact opening years for more of these stations? The articles could really use them. ----DanTD (talk) 21:24, 17 January 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for that on MVW, I will have to double-check that date. I'm pretty sure I got that date from the Library of Congress' info, but I could have messed up! And I can definitely look into opening years for the stations. At least with the Harlem Line I have a rather large collection of timetables that I can check up on. I'm more than willing to help you guys out, except I got rather annoyed when that other editor pounced on me... I had actually uploaded images for all of the remaining Metro-North stations without photos, but then deleted them after that. Which, I suppose was a bit much. I just double checked the date on MVW, construction on that station did begin in 1915, completed in 1917. Road Projects

County road lists

If you look at List of county roads in Alachua County, Florida, you'll notice that I've changed how the infobox displays links.

1. I inserted the missing Interstate, US and SR lines. If you're going to list highways that use those abbreviations in the table, as I'm sure you so with the termini, you need to spell out what the abbreviations mean. Remember, not all readers are Americans nor familiar with our roads.
2. The bottom of the infobox no longer lists SR-related links on CR articles and vice versa. This is controlled by the |type= parameter. You'll need to add |type= CR |county= to the infobox of all other county lists to get the links to display correctly.

Good to know. I just did it on the proposed St. John's County list. In the case of the Marion County list, I left one of the Marion CR 464's broken delibertatley, because there's some inconsistency on whether or not it's CR 464 or 464B, and if both, when the change actually takes place. ----DanTD (talk) 14:07, 21 January 2012 (UTC)

Succession template catagories

Color, line and station templates are very important succession templates. Try deleting them and see what happens to the s-line templates for that system. It would not know what to use without them. Secondarywaltz (talk) 23:42, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

The fact that they are not in any specific category does not affect the templates in any way. It was the fact that you went out of your way to wrongly remove many of them from the correct sub-category that I could not understand. Succession will not work without them!
