Barnstar
The Random Acts of Kindness Barnstar | ||
For your constant vigilance in helping out in keeping us all safe from userpage vandals, I hearby award you this Barnstar in gratitude. Redrocket (talk) 08:20, 1 April 2008 (UTC) |
Re: Barnstar log
Re your message: Hey, that's great. =) I'd be happy to help you set it up. I created a separate barnstar log in my user space at User:Gogo Dodo/Barnstars. That is then transcluded into my user page with a {{User:Gogo Dodo/Barnstars}}. You can copy either the entire layout of the log or just the barnstars userbox-like thing. On my log, the userbox-like list is on the top and then the big multicolumn table is at the end between the <noinclude></noinclude> tags. I'm not sure if you want the whole thing or just parts, but if you leave me another message (this time I will hopefully notice), I can copy the relevant section into a userspace page for you. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 18:05, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: It is rather confusing since there's a lot of stuff in there. I slimmed it down and inserted your barnstar into User:Daedalus969/Barnstars for you. You can alter the CSS code to suit your userpage or rename the page if you don't like the name. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:09, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: You're welcome. The Rickroll thing originated with me running into Rumperypumpery (talk · contribs). While his edits were good, the edit summaries were not at all helpful. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 22:58, 1 April 2008 (UTC)
3RR
Exactly how does this approach 3RR? The edits are spaced over weeks. 70.55.84.42 (talk) 08:41, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
- You should know that what you're reverting are *not* cartoons, and therefore cannot be categorized as anime. Vampire Hunter D: Throng of Heretics has never been animated. 70.55.84.42 (talk) 08:43, 7 April 2008 (UTC)

KLR650
I believe you deleted my post on KLR650 earlier today.
I added a valid link to one of the TOP KLR forums in the world. Why would that be removed ?
Just trying to figure out how to contribute to the Wikipedia, but don't want to waste my time if my contributions get deleted !

Deletion of The Dingo
I'm confused about this deletion. Here is a person with references from leading snowboarding magazines. He is the largest personality in snowboarding. Announces every major event. Why not allow me to build on the article rather than just delete. Please advise. Thundata (talk) 19:23, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Your Sig
Hi Daedalus! Noticed a report of yours at AIV, nice work. Just wanted to let you know that your sig includes something that does not comply with the WP:SIG guideline. It is inappropriate to have external links in your signature including email addresses. You can leave the email this user Wikilink however. Hope this doesn't sound too mean :).¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 22:47, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- Pictures are also something that are not advisable to include in a signature according to the guideline. You know you can use Unicode Symbols and link it in the following way [[Special:EmailUser/Daedalus969|unicode symbol here]].¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 23:04, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: RE6 Hoax
Re your message: Thanks. I deleted that copy, too. -- Gogo Dodo(talk) 06:54, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Re: Admin Coaching
I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to decline to being your admin coach. I'm honored that you would ask, but my declining has to do with a few of reasons, none of which have to do with you. I don't feel that I can dedicate enough time to be a proper coach nor do I think that I would be particularly good at it. I don't want to see you fail in your pursuit of an RfA (should you decide to go that route), because of poor coaching on my part. There are some excellent admins who have volunteered and I think they will do a much better job than I would.
I do have to echo Gonzo's comments to you that pursuing an RfA now would be premature. His advice of getting more experience around here is a good one. Find some part of Wikipedia that interests you where admins work (XfDs, RC patrolling, WP:ANI, CSD tagging, etc.) and dedicate some time to helping out. Having writing experience is a plus, but making a FA/GA/FL isn't really necessary (I've never had one before my RfA and many admins don't). You do need some writing experience so you can experience the collaborative nature of Wikipedia and consensus building. Watching others make a consensus is far different that actively participating in making a consensus when you have to defend your position. You don't have to start an article from scratch or anything like that, but you should make substantial contributions to some articles.
As Gonzo offered, I would be happy to answer your questions and give you feedback on things, but I'm leery about any formal coaching agreement due to my own time constraints. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:30, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Re your message: You are on the right track with what you are doing, just need some more experience. As for a FA, like I said, it's not a requirement so I wouldn't worry about it. You're not likely to see an FA coming out of my writing either. =) -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:11, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
- Im going to have to decline for now, again for reasons totally unrelated to you. I have only been an admin since January and I dont believe I have the experience that would be required of me to adequately coach you. You should definitely check out WP:ADMINCOACH though, they should be able to help! « Gonzo fan2007 (talk ♦ contribs) 06:28, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks!
Thanks for taking the time to pull my history out and to get involved where it's none of your concern. You're so kind, and it's so nice to see favortism, even though others are supposed to remain neutral and assume good faith. I don't think friends should be allowed to get together and gang up on another user, like you think you're doing. --Axeman 10 (talk) 06:26, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- Daedalus969 has my full permission and thanks for looking out for my user page on any and all matters. I appreciate the information, and any wikipedia editor can get involved wherever they see fit. I also have great respect for Sesshomaru, which is how I found you vandalizing his page. Redrocket (talk) 06:37, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
- You guys can look out for each other if you want, but i hope if it's just because of me then it's a waste. It sort of feels like the more devoted someone is to Wikipedia the less of a life they really have, and i know there's crooked users here, some of which you guys are probably friends with, so don't try to B/S me. Also, i aplogized to one of the users i got blocked for stating a crude comment about him, whether or not he forgives me i don't care, but i atleast considered his feelings in the matter, and the second time i was blocked was because i retaliated against another user who was belittling me even after i tried treating him with respect. I probably should get blocked for good because i suppose Wikipedia's not that great, i know it, and my friends at IMDB know it. And me and my friends at IMDB would be treating you guys the same way you're treating me here, if you were on our "Turf" User:Axeman 10|Axeman 10]] (talk) 07:03, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
Good for you
Yes, good for you. I'm not a troll at all, and i do care about the community thing you mentioned. Judge me if you want, but i will continue editing and this time with sources. And no, i wasn't playing games in this issue, excluding the Wilfred Brimley thing, though i only did that because of him being smart and sending me the same thing twice, without the date even being updated. --Axeman 10 (talk) 06:47, 21 April 2008 (UTC)
