Something to make your life easier!

[edit]

Hi there DJADave! I've just come across your article on Clickatell, and noticed that you had to create titles for your url links manually.

You might want to consider using this tool - it makes your life a whole heap easier, by filling in complete citation templates for your links. All you do is install it (as detailed on it's page), then paste the bare url (without [...] brackets) between your <ref></ref> tabs, and you'll find a clickable link called Reflinks in your toolbox section of the page (probably in the left hand column). Then click that tool. It does all the rest of the work (provided that you remember to save the page! Take a look at Clickatell now that I've reflinked it, and you'll see what I mean. Happy editing! The article Pieter de Villiers (Clickatell) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

We already have a new article on Clickatell; we don't need one on a founder as well (no indication that he's notable in any other way than as a founder)

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on TruConnect Mobile, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. User:DJADave/TruConnect Mobile

[edit]

I deleted that article as it did not assert it's significance or importance. I have now userfied it to User:DJADave/TruConnect Mobile so that you can work on the article to establish notability per the relevant notability guideline. Once you have done that you can move it back to the article mainspace. Davewild (talk) 09:03, 13 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved it back to mainspace as requested as it does now assert significance and it has an arguable case for notability.. Davewild (talk) 16:24, 10 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Clickatell for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Clickatell is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clickatell until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Guy (Help!) 00:48, 11 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I notice that this full company article is your first edit since 2016. Please note that if you have have a conflict of interest, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for an organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at DJADave. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=DJADave|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

This was a classic company promo this is what we sell... these are our awards and refs that are mainly press releases or interviews with the company management.

Also read the following regarding writing an article:

  • you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the organisation or company, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, logs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what the company or organisation claims or interviewing its management. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls
  • The notability guidelines for organisations and companies have been updated. The primary criteria has five components that must be evaluated separately and independently to determine if it is met:
  1. significant coverage in
  2. independent,
  3. multiple,
  4. reliable,
  5. secondary sources.
Note that an individual source must meet all four criteria to be counted towards notability. The company appears to have no employees, turnover or profits, and the claim for the money raised is sourced to... the company CEO.
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews. Your text was promotional in tone and the claims for the products were entirely unsourced
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.

In principal, I'm prepared to restore as a draft, but you need to clarify any COI you may have as described above first. You also need make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources, rather than the company-originated or unsourced promo that was there. If you can't find real facts with real references, you will be wasting your time Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:48, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Articles

[edit]

Hi, paid articles have to go through the Articles for Creation process so I've moved your article to Draft:LitePoint so that you may submit it for review.

The tone is currently a bit too promotional (at least clearly written by someone close to the company). For one specific example of what needs improving, see WP:SOLUTIONS.
