[edit]I thought you might find this interesting: WP:BOOKS --Supertouch (talk) 00:12, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
- I do! Supertouch, thank you. It's nice to know there are people out there taking interest in their fellow wikipedians. -- D15724C710N (talk) 10:07, 23 March 2010 (UTC)
Hi! Regarding this (and previous) edit: I usually browse the Web with cookies disabled, and when you disable cookies from .nytimes.com, then this particular page shows "registration required" screen. Obviously, it doesn't justify my edit (I was too lazy to check if enabling cookies solves the problem, my fault), so I want to thank you for catching this and reverting me. Cheers! BartłomiejB (talk) 12:47, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
- @ BartłomiejB -- Whenever I revert I am afraid I am stepping on someone's toes. Thank you for being so magnanimous. This is what good faith is all about. Also, thank you for explaining to me what happened! I almost always surf on cookies, so I wouldn't have caught that one.D15724C710N (talk • contribs) 17:34, 31 March 2010 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, D15724C710N, may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it appears to be confusingly long and unpronounceable. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may file for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account and use that for editing. Thank you. — Jeff G. ツ 22:45, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- I do not agree. The name is definitely not long. D15724C710N is leet for "distraction". So it is just as long as "distraction" - which was taken at the time. I regularly come across usernames much longer than the word "distraction." There are plenty of usernames on the list of administrators that are much longer than mine. So my username is not long - certainly not confusingly so.
- You also claim that my username is unpronounceable, as I mentioned my username is leet for "distraction" - which is, of course, the proper way to pronounce it. For the record, the username policy - which I read thoroughly before picking my username, does not claim that usernames must be pronounceable. I would like to refer you once more to the list of administrators where I have found many usernames I cannot pronounce. On a tangent - your signature contains a Japanese character. I do not read or speak Japanese, so I have no idea what it stands for - let alone how to pronounce it. But that's ok. I do not need to pronounce your signature, just as you do not really need to pronounce my username.
- My username is not offensive, distractive (oh the irony!), disruptive, or too long, and it cannot be easily confused with others. I believe I am within my rights to keep using it. So I certainly do not intend to change my username. I like it. I have a good record of contributions and I do not intend to abandon it for no good reason. So please, let me know which specific part of the username policy you think I have violated. D15724C710N (talk • contribs) 23:31, 25 April 2010 (UTC)
- For the sake of completeness, if it is leet that you find objectionable I would again like to refer you to the list of administrators where you can find such leet usernames as J04n (for "John") and Colds7ream (for "Coldstream".) As far as I can see, username policy does not prohibit the use of leet. D15724C710N (talk • contribs) 07:59, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- Jeff: I agree with D15724C710N; please, allow him to use this username. BartłomiejB (talk) 16:27, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
- BartłomiejB, Thank you!!! I appreciate the support. D15724C710N (talk • contribs) 16:40, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
Objection withdrawn. — Jeff G. ツ 03:29, 29 April 2010 (UTC)
- Thank you. As you have withdrawn your objection, could you please remove the hidden category "Category:Wikipedian usernames editors have expressed concern over" from my talk page? I would really appreciate it. D15724C710N (talk • contribs) 06:18, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Joan Miró and Qrpedia
[edit]Hello! I've seen that are you are a member of the Wikiproject: Visual Arts and I would like to ask you for some help. The Wikipedia in Catalan have reached an agreement with the Joan Miró Foundation: They will include QRpedia codes next to the highlights of his upcoming exhibition about Joan Miró. It's the most important exhibit in the last 20 years, and has passed summer at Tate in London, this autumn will be in Barcelona, and then will go to NGA in Washington. The articles have been made in Catalan and are being translated into English, and I would like you to help us whether monitoring the translation, translating articles or expanding or translating them to other languages. It would be great if you can translate, even just a stub, to greek. :) The more languages we have, the better the experience for the user. You can find more information about the Wikiproject here. Thank you in advance!.--Kippelboy (talk) 11:58, 3 October 2011 (UTC)

Both Tonelli-Shanks and Cipolla's modular square root algorithms can handle powers of prime modula (not just primes)
[edit]I looked up Dickson's History of Numbers vol 1 p215(Tonelli) and p218(Cipolla) and Dickson clearly shows that both modular square root algorithms can handle powers of prime modula (whereas the Wiki articles say they can only do prime modula).
I've updated the TALK pages of both articles with the relevant Dickson math, along with numeric runthroughs with Mathematica code.
However, I am not a professional mathematician so I hesitate to update the articles.
Perhaps yourself, or someone else in the Computer science field could update the relevant articles with this information from Dickson.
The articles in question are:
