Eluppaiyur

[edit]

Hallo, It appears that you created the article at Eluppaiyur by copying the existing article at Iluppaiyur, to give a second article about the same village. (If I have misunderstood the situation, please let me know.)

Please don't do this kind of edit.

  • We do not need two articles on the same place: we can have one or more "redirects" from alternative names, pointing to the one article.
  • If you think the article is at the wrong name, there is a Request Move procedure where you can ask for it to be moved.
  • If you add material to Wikipedia it should be your own work. You have copied other people's writing here and added it as if it was your own. This breaks Wikipedia's rules. Please do not do so again.

The article was taken to Articles for Deletion, by someone who just thought it was a badly written article. Several people argued to keep it, on the basis that all real populated places should have articles. But I have now converted it to a "redirect" to point to the existing article (after having wasted my time improving references etc).

There is a lot to learn about editing Wikipedia, and it is an interesting journey. Please do not let this first unfortunate start discourage you from editing here! Welcome to Wikipedia. PamD 12:09, 1 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
