Cynthia Ross Friedman
[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We welcome and appreciate your contributions, but it appears you have written or added to an article about yourself. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). If you wish to add to an existing article about yourself, please propose the changes on its talk page. Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. --Ronz (talk) 21:02, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
You need to contact the Volunteer Response Team to verify your identity
[edit]So here's the thing. You registered with the username User:Cynthia Ross Friedman, and you're editing Cynthia Ross Friedman. The problem is, there is no way for editors or administrators to verify your claim that you are Friedman.
As a result, you need to email the Volunteer Response Team per the instructions at that link. They can verify your identity and will leave a note here that your identity is verified.
If you do not verify, then we don't know whether you are really Friedman or not, so this account might be blocked as a safeguard against possible impersonation. —C.Fred (talk) 21:09, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Verified. Cynthia Ross Friedman (talk) 21:25, 16 March 2018 (UTC)
Fixing!
[edit]Yes, I have finally come to save "my" page. It has been the target of a defamation attack. I did NOT make the original and I am NOT making substantive changes - only those that validate the comments. I do not know who made the original. Look, I could have made a fake alias, so trust that my very minor edits using me real name are genuine. Cynthia Ross Friedman (talk) 21:09, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Oh come on
[edit]Look at the changes I have made. Minor and accurate. This is the first time I have tried to fix this poor attacked page. I am CRF. Look at the fixes.... Cynthia Ross Friedman (talk) 21:12, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
- Please go to Wikipedia:Volunteer Response Team, and follow the instructions there, and it will be taken care of. --Tryptofish (talk) 21:14, 15 March 2018 (UTC)
Citing news sources
[edit]in this edit you added three newspaper citations in the form of scanned or photographed images of clippings, which were uploaded to Wikimedia Commons. In general, this is not the way we handle news citations on Wikipedia. Such an upload violates the newspaper's copyright, and commons will not host it. Providing bibliographic data, such as the title, name of newspaper, date, and page number of the article being cited is sufficient. If the newspaper has placed a version of the article online, or has authorized a 3rd party to do so, a URL linking to that online version in addition is helpful, but is never required. I have corrected the citations on the Cynthia Ross Friedman article to use this form. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 17:05, 17 March 2018 (UTC)
did not create own page
[edit]That is exceedingly cruel, considering I made two suicide attempts (one you knew about) and have been mentally ill for three years. I did not make my own Wikipedia page, I am not bragging, my employment is not as black and white as you think, I absolutely have acclaim as a musician, and I have not done anything to incur your wrath. You are indeed defaming me, or attempting to, and you are going largely by heresay. This collection of posts are about the cruelest posts I have ever seen. Again, I encourage you to contact me; I have never been given an opportunity to speak. Please do not make assumptions. But hey - I bear no ill will. I really don't. Just try to keep an open mind, and gather all facts before making an assumption. Take care. Cynthia Ross Friedman (talk) 05:57, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
I have blocked the IP
[edit]Good morning, Ms Friedman. I have blocked the person, the IP 24.67.140.62, for one month for their rather blatant harassment of you. I’m sorry that this has happened. You can remove their message above if you wish. At the same time, I have placed a level of protection on the article about you for a few weeks, which means that every edit by an unregistered or newly created account will be vetted before being allowed to stand. I have also placed your talk page here and the article on my watchlist to watch out for any recurrence of behaviour of this kind. Finally, do not hesitate to contact me or one of the experienced editors who have left messages above if you need help. Kind regards, --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 08:02, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks for the protection and IP block. There are other accounts that would be worth keeping an eye on, that are listed at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Brookelascp/Archive. --Tryptofish (talk) 00:02, 21 March 2018 (UTC)
Thank you.
[edit]Not sure if my other thank-you post made it, but thank you for being so vigilant against harrassment. I am really grateful. I do not know how to take down the post, but if you could, that would be great. If not, it is what it is. I also really did not create the page, but I did add the bit about the royal society of the arts and the music references. I am certainly no fraud. Keep up the great work! - I got your message, thank you, and I’ve removed the post for you. --Malcolmxl5 (talk) 22:55, 19 March 2018 (UTC)
