737 MAX accident article summaries

Hi @Cutlass, I noticed you’re repeating the edits you have already made multiple times previously - namely in May and June this year. This does technically count as edit warring, since you’re reintroducing your preferred text multiple times - just over a longer period. There is an existing consensus at Talk:Boeing 737 MAX regarding this summary which you are free to read.

if you do feel it should be changed, then it would be worth starting a new discussion on one of the two article talk pages - consensus can change, so it’s rarely bad to have a discussion. But please do discuss these things instead of edit warring. Danners430 (talk) 23:25, 14 December 2024 (UTC)

Sorry, I looked for the consensus that was mentioned in all of the talk page archives but couldn't find it. Could you link to it here? CutlassCiera 23:55, 14 December 2024 (UTC)
As far as I’m aware it’s the first discussion currently on the page - but I’ll be honest, given how ridiculously massive the discussion is it would be good to have a new discussion… it’s been a while since the topic of that summary has come up so perhaps it’s time for a rethink. Danners430 (talk) 00:44, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
Reviewing that discussion there isn't a mention on how the entire summary should be blanked besides "Loss of control." What I am seeing is consensus for removing "pilot error" from the summary. CutlassCiera 00:51, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
@Danners430: Could you please point to where in this discussion consensus is reached for removing everything from the summary? Note that consensus was reached at Template talk:Infobox aircraft occurrence#RfC on causes in the summary field to include brief causes in the Summary field. CutlassCiera 04:21, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
I haven’t read through that jumble of discussion, which is why I’d love to have a fresh discussion - as it stands I have been working on the good faith of myself and the other editors who have tried to keep the summary the way it currently is. I do feel that this summary is a better option, but perhaps we were misguided in believing that the consensus was already there.
Like I said - let’s get a discussion open, given there’s an obvious dispute as to what the summary should be, and let’s get a consensus once and for all.
Also - if there’s a discussion open on your talk page regarding a topic, please don’t start a new discussion on my talk page just because I don’t instantly reply. I am entitled to a good night’s sleep. Danners430 (talk) 07:02, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
I started a new discussion on Talk:Boeing 737 MAX about this. The reverts and the double discussions were my error. CutlassCiera 17:05, 15 December 2024 (UTC)
I can’t contribute quite just yet as I’m about to head out for dinner, but probably worth putting notes on the individual article talk pages too pointing to the discussion Danners430 (talk) 17:11, 15 December 2024 (UTC)

I have sent you a note about a page you started

Nice work. An image would be a nice addition.

Hi Cutlass, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the new page reviewer user right to your account. This means you now have access to the page curation tools and can start patrolling pages from the new pages feed. If you asked for this at requests for permissions, please check back there to see if your access is time-limited or if there are other comments.

This is a good time to re-acquaint yourself with the guidance at Wikipedia:New pages patrol. Before you get started, please take the time to:

You can find a list of other useful links and tools for patrollers at Wikipedia:New pages patrol/Resources. If you are ever unsure what to do, ask your fellow patrollers or just leave the page for someone else to review – you're not alone! – Joe (talk) 20:38, 29 December 2024 (UTC)
