Your recent edits
Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:19, 29 August 2015 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for August 30
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
- Guru Nanak

Sikhism article
Hi Js82, I have noticed you asking for admin intervention in an edit summary [1]. But it doesn't work that way. You need to first engage the other editor in a talk page discussion to talk about the issues. If it appears that there is an irreconcilable dispute then other editors or admins may get invoved. A kitten for you!
I appreciate and admire your contribution. You advise non - Sikhs to read the Guru Granth Sahib. How will it be possible for me to read it when the Sikhs themselves are not allowed even to touch the Granth in the Gurudwaras , and I am a non-Sikh. Plus, I am not conversant with the Gurumukhi script of the Granth. Where can I buy the Guru Granth Sahib in English?
Bastollah (talk) 16:32, 21 October 2015 (UTC)
- @Bastollah:, Sikhs (or anyone) is allowed to go read the Guru Granth Sahib in Gurudwaras. You just have to follow the "protocol". Anyway, the entire translation is available at many places online. Here is one:
- You can also listen to the Gurbani from the Guru Granth Sahib (many videos available on youtube with translations):
- Here for example are two links with translations of two of the daily prayers (the first prayer forms the beginning of the Guru Granth Sahib), and some other links.
- And you will not be able to "buy" a copy at some place. The Sikhs treat the scripture as a "living Guru", so not for sale. But I am sure you can get booklets (also called Gutkas) of smaller prayers (like Japji Sahib, etc) from a local Gurudwara if you want.
A kitten for you!
Thank you. Incidentally, you being an authority on Sikhism, can you give me reasons why the Granth is never to be found in Sikh homesteads? I know a lot many Sikhs (the Sahajdharis) who could not provide me with a satisfactory answer.
