Hello William, welcome to Wikipedia. Here's some tips:

Other useful pages are: how to edit, how to write a great article, naming conventions, manual of style and the Wikipedia policies.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Tony the Marine 00:03, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Puerto Rican immigration to Hawaii

[edit]

Hi William, welcome aboard. I am happy to have the pleasure of welcoming you and of knowing about your interest in my article. For me it is an honor that you would like to add to the article. Yes, you may contribute any new information that will make the article better. The reason that I reverted what you wrote was because some of the facts were already stated, however you're more then welcome to expand or add to the information already there. If I can assist you in anyway or if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask. Your friend in Wiki Tony the Marine 00:03, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Re:I need some additional advice

Hi William, what I meant that there were already certain facts stated in the article, however the facts that are not stated, you're more then welcome to add them into the article. No you did not commit any discrepancy or breach of Wiki etiquette. It was a mistaken tag on my behalf, I apologize. The proper tag should have been repeated info. but it's O.K. now.

I am very excited about your participation in the Hawaii project. I wrote the article because I believe that people everywhere should be aware of this part of our (Puerto Rican) history. Yes, you may include whatever information you obtain from an expert even if the information is not published, as long as you quote your source. In other words if someone tells you "this" or "that", you should ask him or her their source, just in case someone else wants to verify the information. This is done to maintain the credibility of the encyclopedia. Tony the Marine 05:00, 17 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

(P.S. I just checked out your websites and man, those are beautiful guitars that you make. God Bless You, Brother!)

Too difficult!!

[edit]

I'd love to reply to you, Tony, but I've spent the last twenty minutes trying to navigate through this maze. I'd love to participate, and have a treasure trove of data that I can contribute, but I'm overwhelmed at the complexity of this contribution system. I'm not even sure if this message will get to you. I attempted to once before and gave up, and now ten years later I was encouraged to again, and then discouraged when I realized that I just couldn't navigate the maze. Thank you for you kind remarks and good wishes. If you wish, you can reply to me at william@cumpiano.com

Hi. I've left you a message on Tony The Marine's Talk page HERE. BTW, be sure you always add the 4 squiggles "~~~~" after any messages you leave on any talk page (including your own). They are a code for the system to add your signature and timestamp to your message, so everyone know's when you left the message and how to get to your talk page, see your WP contributions, etc. The squiggles are located on the keyboard to the left of the number "1" key (you use the SHIFT key).

Cuatro

[edit]

I would be willing to work with you on cuatro related articles. You may be interested in History of lute-family instruments in which I tried to add in Latin American lutes. I know just a little about these, but am fairly good at Wikipedia basics. Perhaps you could contact me on my email and we could talk about what you'd like to do.
