Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits to Mary Midgley, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Lakeside Out!-LakesideMinersClick Here To Talk To Me! 12:52, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well thanks Lakeside - next time one of my parents dies I'll be sure to ask you how to correct the erroneous date of their death.

If you need help

[edit]

If I can be of any help let me know. I am a huge admirer of your mothers work and fondly remember conversations at HTLGI in Hay. She once said I had asked an interesting question and its a proud moment. Either way Wikipedia can be a harsh place but there are ways to make good things happen. For example the birth certificate can be supplied off wiki to validate it ig necessary. Just ask ... -----Snowded TALK 19:01, 16 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Ctmidgley. It's very bad practice to delete Talk Page contributions you have made, especially after someone else has replied to them, as it can confuse everyone! You can use strikeout instead: see my source code for how to do that. There does appear to be some sort of problem with the EPA's database today because I had the same problem accessing it from my PC before I replied to you. However, I now suspect it has something to do with their servers being down rather that the URLs being wrong. We had a real URL problem earlier this year I now realise (see bottom part of wikidata:Property_talk:P3117) and your initial posting at the Helpdesk suggested it could be the same sort of thing again. I'll investigate. Mike Turnbull (talk) 12:20, 1 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
