BCarmichael feedback

[edit]

The article selected is appropriate for the course and has room for expansion. The statements included are placed well in the existing content and help elaborate on information. Improvement could be made in expanding this information, being more specific, and using more credible sources. How developed are these locations? Are these events typical? Expanding on these details would help the reader understand the gravity of both events. Did you check your own contribution for plagiarism? How reliable are your sources? From what I gather, one is news media and the other is a religious humanitarian organization. Support needs to come from peer-reviewed scientific sources and/or governmental organizations. Good idea with the links - this helps the reader learn more. BCarmichael (talk) 02:24, 11 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Jnune14 Feedback: 1982–83 El Niño event

[edit]

The sentences that you added incorporated a lot of useful societal and ecological aspects, but I think you could improve your sentence structure a little bit. Also, you added the article that you edited to the column for articles that you are peer-reviewing instead of the column for articles that you are editing. You did a good job of searching for plagiarism and adding a citation were it was needed. You clearly stated what you added on the talk page and on your user sandbox, and you did a good job of finding two new sources, including a government website, and adding two useful links to other wikipedia articles. In the last paragraph, you talk about both sea lions and seals, and then you say "the entirety of both seals' pup populations perished," even though you aren't talking about two kinds of seals, but instead one kind of sea lions and one kind of seals. Some suggestions for ways that you could improve your edit of this article include: stating what factors made this El Niño so strong, adding information about how this El Niño affected plants life as well as people in the areas it affected, adding some detail about how the flooding, droughts, and lack of snow this El Niño caused affected those corresponding areas, describing what made up that $8 billion economic loss, going into detail about how the loss of sea lions and seals affected Peru, or going into detail about the high fish and shrimp harvests affected Ecuador.
