Speedy deletion nomination of Ana Maldonado
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Ana Maldonado requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://kingjesusministry.org/about-us/our-pastors/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Ana Maldonado
[edit]Hi Cristian325, I noticed that you blanked the article Ana Maldonado. Did you want to request that the article be deleted, or did you still want to expand it? We can't have an empty article, so either something has to go there and you can take your chances with whether or not it will survive, or you can request for it to be deleted. Also, you might want to consider using the Articles for Creation process, which will give you some time to work on your article and get it up to snuff before it goes live. Guillermo Maldonado article
[edit]Okay, so here's what I've done: I've copied and pasted the current version of the Maldonado article (the one without the copyright infringements) to a sub-page in your userspace. You can find it here: User:Cristian325/Guillermo Maldonado (pastor). This is NOT a live article, this is a place for you to work on your article until you get it to a point where it can be released. What I would also recommend, is that you make contact with some of the folks at WikiProject Christianity. I started a discussion about the article here. Make friends, listen to advice and see what that community can suggest to improve the article. Hope that helps. Sorry you had a rocky afternoon. :) Cyphoidbomb (talk) 21:45, 7 January 2014 (UTC)

[edit]Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Cyphoidbomb has sandboxed the text for you to work on, but I thought it would help if I explained my action. I deleted your article because
- it did not provide adequate independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. Although you gave some references, they were often to your site or similar pages, not to genuine third party sources
- it was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: His redemptive power... believes he has been given a specific mission to convert 12 percent of the Miami population... to expand the Gospel to all the nations of the worldbelieves God has called him to establish a church ministry... Maldonado was called to ministry by God... the presence of God filled his room... His strong burden is to guide every student to fulfil their calling through the supernatural power of God... is married to Prophet — You obviously feel strongly about your faith, but religious fervour is not encyclopaedic content. I regularly delete articles about religion, in particular, because they try to spread the word or venerate their holy men rather than give verifiable facts.
- The whole of the "Vision" and "Mission" sections are just promoting yourself and your particular brand of religion.

Comments
[edit]Hi, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. I made some minor edits, just manual of style stuff. You should keep the article title as Guillermo Maldonado (pastor). The description should be the job, not a title. I've deleted the old article so that you can move this article back to the correct title.
A couple of style things, which you are not obliged to follow but will improve the article's appearance.
- If you format your references as <ref>[url description]</ref>, instead of bare urls, it will look much better and be helpful to your readers
- You have lots of one or two sentence sections, makes it look listy. better to roll the content into longer sections
Content issues
- According to the Christian News Report, King Jesus Ministry is the largest Hispanic church in the United States is actually sourced to a blog, which is not a reliable source. You need to find a better source or remove the claim.
- The scribd references are written by you or your affiliates, and are not independent sources. They are also promoting your books, which is not permitted.
- Guillermo Maldonado also preaches the message of Jesus and His redemptive power—better as Guillermo Maldonado also preaches what he sees as the message of Jesus and His redemptive power— other religious leaders may have different views. Although you may well believe yours is the only true version, that may not be accepted by everyone, so you need to qualify
- In a church service, he “prophesied” resurrection; at that moment, someone in the hospital morgue came back to life after being dead for 23 hours.— You present this as cause and effect, rather than coincidence. You believing that you have the power to raise the dead doesn't mean that it is true. I could claim that any unlikely survival was due to my prayers. To support this claim, you need a proper medical reference that she was dead, and independent evidence that you predicted the resurrection of this particular person in advance, rather than discovered it afterwards.
- In another occasion a mother produced medical documents stating a diagnosis of her unborn child with Turner Syndrome while it was still in her womb. She explained that after Guillermo Maldonado prayed for her, the baby was born without the condition. — "claimed", rather than "explained"— Again, she and you may believe that it's cause and effect, but an independent observer might not accept your divine intervention as provable, so you can't state it as fact
I hope this helps Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:02, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
- I think you will just have to see what happens now. I think you have established notability, and there are plenty of references. It's possible that you explanation of your views and teaching may still be seen as promotional, but no point worrying about that until it happens. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:20, 10 January 2014 (UTC)
Good work!
[edit]Hey Cristian325, I gotta say, it was shaky for you at first, and I was a little concerned that you might just be a propaganda machine, but in spite of the copy-pasting, and copyright infringements, and multiple page moves and all that stuff, I have to admit you've demonstrated a genuine willingness to create a quality article, to listen to community input, to yield and make changes where appropriate, and all without stubbornness, a hostile word, or even an unfriendly tone. You did a great job, even if you may have a teensy conflict of interest.
While I am not a religious man m'self, I would like to offer you this:

I humbly receive it :). Sorry for the beginning. I've always wanted to do a Wikipedia article, so I started with something I liked. I'm just a church member. This was my first one so I had no idea about the rules. That was my fault for not reading on how to write a Wikipedia article. I got a little lazy. Thanks for all your feedback. I was able to learn a lot from it. Thanks for all your help!! :)
Page move that co-opts Guillermo Maldonado disambiguation page
[edit]Hi Cristian 325, I'm confused how you managed to co-opt what was previously a Guillermo Maldonado disambiguation page. Was this the result of a discussion? And if so, where is that discussion? Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:54, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
- There was no discussion and needed to be undid for other reasons as well. Page moves have to be done in a way that preserves the page history per WP:Moving a page#Moves where the target name has an existing page. tahc chat 15:07, 1 February 2014 (UTC)
