I'd also like to highlight a few policies that might be applicable to your question asked at the Sandman article. See: WP:NOR (no original research), WP:NPOV (neutral point of view), and WP:CITE (verifiability). These are all official policy on Wikipedia. The Sandman article could definitely use some citations and discussion on things, just make sure you can cite to a reputable reference that will back you up.
As for reception of anything you add, editors should be civil and make no personal attacks. We're here to build an encyclopedia, and will assume good faith, not bite the newcomers. Let me know at my talk page if you have any further questions. -- Norvy (talk) 19:21, 4 September 2005 (UTC)

License tagging for Image:Crescentpic.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Crescentpic.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 09:04, 6 May 2006 (UTC)

Callicore
[edit]Calli means beautiful and this is appropriate- core may be Persephone following the Classical tradition (usual in early butterfly nomenclature). There is no indication in Hubner's description so this must remain a guess. Why not put the supposed etymology on the page and see if anyone has a better idea? Best I can do Robert aka Notafly (talk) 17:34, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
core will be Latin or Greek not French - almost all early Genus or binomial names are (hence the term Latin names). I did not mean that Persephone was traditional I meant that many early butterfly names are drawn from Greek mythology- hero, homerus, ulysses and soon.Other early and most later names are descriptive or honour other naturalists. See the specific epithets following Papilio here Centuria Insectorum and List of Latin and Greek words commonly used in systematic names If I think of a reference to this practise I will let you know 'but no source springs immediately to mind. Don't hesitate to ask again if you are still uncertain. Notafly (talk) 21:30, 4 January 2015 (UTC)Ps For this reason many genus names in Wiki lead to disambiguation pages.
Disambiguation link notification for February 20
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ancient Egyptian deities in popular culture, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Marvel (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
