Welcome!

Hey, Crazyviolinist, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. I hope you like the site and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful (some of them may sound stupid, but I recommend you check them out):

While editing, please remember:

You should introduce yourself here at the new user log. I hope you enjoy editing and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name, the date, and the time.

For your first edits, I suggest searching for articles that you think might interest you. You could also be audacious and try a random page.

If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome and happy editing! Cbrown1023 22:10, 18 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My school was blocked from editing Wikipedia. I found this out this morning while on the site. Unfortunately, when the IP was blocked, I discovered I couldn't edit while I was at my school, even when logged in. Is this normal Wikipedia policy?crazyviolinist 21:38, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot the school's IP: 204.169.40.254. Yes, I know that whoever is doing these edits are doing this in the worst way possible, and I don't condone it.crazyviolinist 21:39, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Crazyviolinist. I'm not an expert on this, but I think that this is fairly normal. You can request unblocking by following these directions. Sorry I can't be of more help. —PurpleRAIN 21:45, 11 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

Autoblock of 204.169.40.254 lifted or expired.

Ohhh block? thats gotta suck, my ISP is banned from making account on wiki for some reason and despite numerous emails to wiki nothing ever gets done about it, anyways, glad you're back on patrol bud, just wanted to know I left a comment in the starforce discussion. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Talk:StarForce#Some_changes_for_better_fitness Credits to you for patrolling this one, its always been open to vandalism from several people and its nice to see someone took over from me :P 85.178.197.70 18:47, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Well there are a number of situations in which use of the download source could be legal - for example countries which allow purchasers of software to keep a backup copy (provided they don't break any DRM). It is better to simply be descriptive (it is unauthorised - fact, but whether or not it is illegal depends on the individual downloader and his/her local laws). In the same way we use 'suicide bomber' or 'kidnapper' instead of 'terrorist' because it is better to simply describe the subject to the reader, rather than attempting to make judgements of our own. PS: Apologies for the delayed reply, I am not very active on Wikipedia at the moment Cynical 04:37, 22 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
