When I try to edit any page while logged in under my name, I get a file download box and the filename is "index.php" This has happened on every computer that I have tried. I don't know why this happens, but if I log out and then try to edit a page, it works perfectly. What can I do to fix this?Crazeedriver2005 23:57, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go to Special:Preferences (when you are logged in). In the Editing section untick "Use external editor by default".--Commander Keane 00:06, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated Michael Coldsmith Briggs III, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Michael Coldsmith Briggs III and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Redirected article

[edit]

I suggest that if you object to the redirection of the article you created that you take it to deletion review. There you can discuss the merits of the article and have the decision for the redirect reviewed by other editors. Yelling at Quarl is going to get you nowhere, however, so I suggest you stop. Metros232 16:04, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, but he (or she, or it) needed to know my frustration.

Crazeedriver2005 16:28, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are a lot better ways of getting your view points across than yelling and screaming. In fact, people will respect you more if you use those methods instead of being belligerent. Metros232 16:30, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How do I recover my page?

Crazeedriver2005 16:40, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Read what I said above about going to deletion review. Metros232 16:43, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm at the Deletion review page right now. I don;t understand what i'm supposed to do.

Crazeedriver2005 16:48, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Follow the directions here on that page. Copy that first line, paste it here. Replace PAGE_NAME with your page and UNDELETE _REASON with why you think it should be overturned. Then save the page. That should produce the DRV for it. Then copy the notification to let Quarl know it's on DRV. Does that help? Metros232 16:55, 23 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Virtual Trucking Company requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Blanchardb-MeMyEarsMyMouth-timed 22:23, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Virtual Trucking Company

[edit]

Another editor has added the {{prod}} template to the article Virtual Trucking Company, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
