October 2015[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Aurora Fossil Museum, and I noticed that your username, "AuroraFossilMuseum", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Trammel Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you. -- Marchjuly (talk) 04:40, 29 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

While the effort to comply with the above policy by changing your username to CraneCynthiaAFM is appreciated, it still does not comply. Please remove AFM from your username to help prevent the appearance that you are representing the museum in your edits. Also as a visitor to the museum and a neutral 3rd party, I am happy to help you with edits to the article that you feel would improve it. This will help prevent any conflict of interest questions. If you look at the article's history you will see that I originally created it 2 years ago after visiting with family.--RadioFan (talk) 13:31, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I not sure if the "AFM" needs to be removed. The above template says However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Mark at WidgetsUSA", "Jack Smith at the XY Foundation", and "WidgetFan87" so as long as the username identifies CraneCynthia personally, which it does, then it is acceptable. Moreover, the username change was made by Céréales Killer who seems to be experienced in making global name changes so it is unlikey they would have left the "AFM" if it was still a violation of WP:UNP -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:00, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
