Re: Orphaned non-free image GOP Logo1.svg
Are you sure it's a good idea to delete this file? There's a pretty strong case for pd-ineligible here. --hydrox (talk) 04:39, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Given the design of the O in GOP, I actually don't think there's a case for it at all. The elephant design is past the threshold of originality. Courcelles 04:40, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Pakistan military rank insignia images
Howdy! Thanks for the advice re: orphaned images. My problem is, at one time they were not orphaned - how do I find out what has changed to now make them orphaned? Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:02, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Well, usually the uploader knows which article they were used in, so you'd have to check the history of that page. For fair-use images, this tends to be easier, as the FUR template usually includes the link to the intended article. The FUR on that image indicates it was used on Pakistan Army. The history then reveals it was removed in this edit. Courcelles 14:08, 3 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks mate. Our dear friend Mr Delta is making a thorough-going nuisance of himself! If you've got nothing better to do, (depending on your personal interests), you may want to add his talk page to your watchlist. Again, thanks. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 14:21, 3 May 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned images
Once again, thanks for the orphaned images notification. Most appreciated. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:17, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- BTW: Do you think you can find a better template with a higher signal-to-noise ratio? Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:17, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- (The current template you're using is 90% spam, and the important "signal" gets lost in the uninformative confusing spammy noise.)
- Template:Di-orphaned fair use-notice is fully protected, though options on reducing its (excessive) verbage are welcome on the talk page. We could indeed use a smaller one, but unless a smaller template was also built into Twinkle, I doubt ti would get much use f we ended up with two. :( Courcelles 12:31, 5 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oh dear me! You're not letting logic, pragmatics and practicality get in the way of a "grand vision" are you? If you're not careful, next thing you'll know is that some idiot will be spouting something irrelevant like "There's no 'I' in 'team'" at you. Tread with care my friend. Orphaned images
You can just delete these images: File:1 eurocent mo series1.gif, File:1 eurocent mo series2.gif, File:2 eurocent mo series1.gif, and File:2 eurocent mo series2.gif. These used to be in the articles for 1 cent euro coins and 2 cent euro coins, but they were removed, so I suppose they're no longer needed. Thank you for notifying me. :) --Brandon5485 22:07, 5 May 2011 (UTC)

This cover will be officially added to the page once the move request goes through. If you could, it'd be great if you could do the move (since nobody has done it yet). Thanks! ℥nding·start 03:45, 6 May 2011 (UTC)

Closed FAC
Hi Courcelles. Thanks for closing the FAC nom of "Irresistible", but the bot has not updated the archive or articlehistory yet. Is it okay if I put it up for a copyedit at the GOCE? Novice7 (talk) 04:18, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- The bot that does those things, hasn't edited at all since the FAC was closed- see [1]. So, go ahead, ask the GOCE for help :) Courcelles 04:22, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, thanks :D Novice7 (talk) 04:26, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Confirmed
Hi Courcelles, I lost the password to one of my old alternate accounts User:Fridae'sDoom.alt, I created a new one User:Ancient Apparition.alt but it doesn't have confirmed status, could you please add it? Thanks, —James (Talk • Contribs) • 3:20pm • 05:20, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- I've marked the new one as confirmed, indefinitely blocked the old one, and stripped reviewer and rollback privileges from it. Courcelles 05:23, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned images
Hi... Saw your posts on my talk page, regarding orphaned images (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User_talk:Suhail_spa#Orphaned_non-free_image_File:Octane_render-1.png) Actually the main article on Octane Render was deleted by admin (username Deb) on 1 May, and upon request- has been undeleted and provided here- http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Suhail_spa/Octane_Render Currently myself, and other users (of the forum of Octane Render) are working towards improving the article, so avoid future deletions. The images have been re-linked on this page (http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/User:Suhail_spa/Octane_Render), and hopefully these images are not deleted- technically they are not 'orphaned' now. Best Regards, Suhail spa (talk) 05:32, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- You're not allowed to use non-free images anywhere outside of the articlespace, so, technically, it is still orphaned. Courcelles 05:36, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
I put the file up for speedy deletion per db-author. Best,4meter4 (talk) 07:33, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
File history deletion
Hi. Could you please reduce (or delete) the revisions in the file File:Logo of University Athletic Association of the Philippines.svg? The file page looks messy with those revisions. Thanks! — P H I L T R O (talk) 09:57, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, if Rmcsamson point is valid about the logo changing every year, his version ought to be restored, and then the rest deleted under F5, rather than any deletions occurring right now. Courcelles 10:09, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Okay. I am actually thinking of separate files to be created since only the colors in the logo rotates, and makes it different, every year. What do you think, instead of uploading a new version every year? Thanks. — P H I L T R O (talk) 11:53, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Then you'll get bugged with deletion notifications, as each year the old one will have to go if there's nowhere to use it... Courcelles 11:54, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

Could you take a look at the above article and tell me what to do. If it is eligible, what speedy criteria it can be deleted under. mauchoeagle (c) 15:25, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry to say, that fits no speedy deletion criteria. If you really believe it should go, you'll have to use some formal process, either PROD or AFD. Courcelles 15:38, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

you have my permission to delete File:Glowingnickisuperbass.JPG and File:Nickiminaj-superbassvideostills.JPG as soon as possible. they will not be used in the future, so their's no point in wasting time, thank you :] Theuhohreo (talk) 06:06, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

ICC Cricket World Cup
Thank You Administrator Courcelles for Protecting The Page 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup. As you see i had already mentioned in the Page name change that the Full Official Name of the Tournament is ICC Cricket World Cup and there are Full Legitimate Evidence To Prove It. And also Right, Authentic and Correct Information must be available on Wikipedia. So, I therefore request you to protect all the other ICC Cricket World Cup pages starting from the 1975 ICC Cricket World Cup to the currently 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup including the main Page ICC Cricket World Cup Itself. I hope you will protect the pages for maximum possible period of Time. Your cooperation will be Highly valued. Thanking You, Yours Sincerely KS700 (talk) 13:50, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- I think you misunderstand the reason for page protection. We don't protect pages to make a ruling on who is "right", the protection merely stops a move war, which is a highly disruptive activity to engage in. The article's talk page is the place to work it out. Courcelles 22:42, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
I finally got to expanding the 2011 Fiesta Bowl section; I still need to add a couple of references but all the necessary information is there. Feel free to take a look and let me know if you would like anything changed or added. –Grondemar 21:20, 8 May 2011 (UTC)

Yobot again
You might want to comment at WP:ANI#Yobot and inconsequential changes yet again. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:57, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
- Not this again... I really thought I'd said my peace on this matter, and here we are back within a week. That said, my opinions on these "edits" are well known and easy to find, so I may monitor ANI instead of participating in the thread. Courcelles 23:36, 8 May 2011 (UTC)
Help
Hi Courcelles! While reverting vandalism, I stumbled upon this. I'm not sure if the user means it or not. Where can I report this? Novice7 (talk) 11:18, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- that's just vandalism... or someone who plans to go to Heathrow. Anyway, he's already indeffed. Courcelles 11:37, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Oh, thanks :) I'm sorry for stuffing your talk page with queries. Novice7 (talk) 11:49, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Another question. This user has been creating new pages (probably to promote a website called worldtamilnews.com). I redirected a few of them, but the article Worldtamilnews.com, what shall I do with that? AfD, PROD or CSD? I don't think CSD is applicable in this case. Thanks in advance. Novice7 (talk) 12:10, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- A couple of the other pieces met various speedy criteria, but that one in particular doesn't meet any of them. If you think it needs to go, PROD or AFD will be the only options. Courcelles 12:13, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for helping me out. I'll wait and see if the user creates more articles like these. Novice7 (talk) 12:19, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Hi there. Apologies for my disappearing during Wikipedia:Featured list candidates/List of Watford F.C. players/archive2. My situation was unforseeable, and in mitigation the review would probably have been archived for lack of participation whether I was here or not, but I'm sorry nonetheless.
I believe that all of your comments have now been addressed: both the specific examples, and clarity of prose and referencing in general, and was wondering if you would be willing to take a second look, and comment at the new FLC? If not, I understand, but I hope to see you there. Regards, —WFC— 15:40, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
Hi Courcelles, I hope you are okay.
I've restored the article about Gary Barnacle. It is now (I think well) referenced, but I'm still working on it. Can you please restore its talk page?

File:Indonesia's - lots of them
Did Dashbot screw up? I tagged all those two days ago, and it seems Dashbot reverted with "Bot: Removing Deletion Tag: This image is used in the article space" Ronhjones (Talk) 19:37, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- I'd imagine they were briefly back in use somewhere, but there's no way to be sure unless you got very lucky and found the right diff and article. Courcelles 20:12, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
- There's an edit war at Banknotes of the Indonesian rupiah, so they were in one minute and out the next. I've tried to add some reasoning to the editor... Ronhjones (Talk) 21:01, 9 May 2011 (UTC)

Bring Back the CJ Environmental Page
Hi Courcelles, the following three articles have recently surfaced about CJ Environmental. Here are the links:
Can you please bring back the CJ_Environmental page now in light of these references? Beckshow (talk) 18:11, 9 May 2011 (UTC)
