A barnstar

The Userpage Shield
For reverting vandalism on my userpage on two occasions. Thank you! The High Fin Sperm Whale 00:49, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
You're quite welcome. Thanks for the star! Courcelles (talk) 12:12, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry

Sorry for being a "vandal" just testing out the software-shaneoinsaino.

You can run all the tests you like at Wikipedia:Sandbox without any problems! Have a nice day! Courcelles (talk) 17:08, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Thank you re Employment equity (Canada)

Thank you for keeping an eye on Employment equity (Canada) and reverting the vandalism. Canadian2006 (talk) 02:11, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

No problem. I'll add it to my watchlist to keep a closer eye on it. Courcelles (talk) 02:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

SWPPP

James?

I cannot locate the "SWPPP" article content, of the page you declined. Given the detailed links and references I provided, I think you were a bit quick to not accept, and provide ideas on improvement within the new article.

In trying to find out what happened, I stumbled upon this: " Is Wikipedia in Decline? Scientists Search for Answers in Wikipedia's Numbers BY Clay Dillow Tue Aug 4, 2009" (I hesitate to place an http link here), which is exactly how I think. 5 years ago I posted numerous articles that remain today (often expanded greatly by others), now I can't post an obvious and easy one?

Worse, I do not wish to re-spend the time it took to create what I knew was a missing article, since the acronym is reference four times in Wikipedia, but with no explanation, and the work I did appears to be lost.

Poor choice, I will no longer attempt to post articles, count me as one of the (millions?) now disenfranchised.

Here is the link to your article: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, of which the only content you submitted was "The SWPPP acronym was poorly referenced in Wikipedia." There were no links, no references, and no content to tell what a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan was. In the article space, that article would have been deleted under criterion A1 of the speedy deletion guidelines. You can always re-write the article and submit it again as instructed on the page; at a minimum we would need a paragraph about what an SWPPP is, why it is important, and a couple of independent references. Another Barnstar

The Userpage Shield
To Courcelles for rapidly reverting two attacks on my user page in March, not to mention being a fantastic force for good in the ongoing anti-vandal effort. Sorry it has taken me so long to award this, and my very best wishes to you! Jusdafax 01:16, 12 April 2010 (UTC)
Thank you as well, I actually remember this; the first one was fairly mild, while the second was rather vulgar. Always happy to clean up a colleague's user space! Courcelles (talk) 14:17, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for my user-page cleanup as well. Keep up the good fight! Best, CliffC (talk) 19:30, 12 April 2010 (UTC)

No problem! Happy to be of service anytime I can be. Courcelles (talk) 03:35, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Adminship

Hello Courcelles. I saw that you have made almost 1,300 WP:AIV reports. Would you like me to nominate you for adminship? Just tell me if you would. Congrats, --The High Fin Sperm Whale 03:02, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

[1]. Aiken 11:56, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for the offer, but, yes, Aiken has correctly linked to my views on this for the present time. I may eventually run, but now's not the right time. Courcelles (talk) 15:47, 13 April 2010 (UTC)
Re. your edit summary "Snowballs would be likely", I disagree. You have ample experience, it's just time that's the negative factor - you've only been active a matter of months really. Clearly you would have many people supporting you - but, unfortunately, you may well get people opposing based on time. As I said when I offered, there's no harm at all in waiting. Aiken 16:23, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Royal neighbors

As I'm sure you know, if the author blanks the page we can use the db-blanked template instead of restoring it to the page with the original speedy nomination. Cathardic (talk) 20:40, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

I know, I realized it a second too late to stop the reversion, but luckily in enough time to stop Huggle from giving the author a warning for vandalism. Courcelles (talk) 20:42, 13 April 2010 (UTC)

Reversion or a recent edit

I've reverted one of your recent edits. See http://books.google.com/books?id=FSlwAAAAMAAJ Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:12, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

The only edit I've ever made to that article was this one, reverting blatant vandalism. I think you either placed this message on the wrong talkpage, or concerning the wrong edit. Courcelles (talk) 03:19, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Okay, missed this a minute prior, but it was the same thing, removing a blatantly bad edit. I've never changed the content of that article. Courcelles (talk) 03:23, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
You're right. The problem edit was made by an anon just after one of your edits. I apparently clicked the wrong talk link. I did pause after seeing your talk page, took a second look, and didn't see the mistake I had made. My head clearly is not on as straight as it should be, and it's clearly time for me to log off Wikipedia for a while. Thanks for the reply. Cheers. Wtmitchell (talk) (earlier Boracay Bill) 03:29, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
No worries, it happens to all of us from time to time. Courcelles (talk) 03:36, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I'd like to add that you should state some reasons if you are reverting an edit. 78.51.153.66 (talk) 19:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Your edit removed content from an article. You're right, the removal could be considered justifiable, those sources that were there aren't worth much. (Actually, that whole article is lousy). I'll come over to your talk page and remove the warning. Courcelles (talk) 19:54, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

"Backseat Betty" edit

Why did you revert my edit to the "Backseat Betty" article? It was purely constructive; it's not like I was vandalising. And I find it kind of insulting that you said if I'd like to experiment, to use the Wikipedia Sandbox. I know what that is; in fact, I'm a registered user on Wikipedia, but I just can't be bothered to log in at the moment. 110.33.2.127 (talk) 16:11, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

See your talk page, I had already fixed it. Sorry about that. Courcelles (talk) 16:13, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

I am curious.

What's bad about love? 168.99.144.58 (talk) 20:44, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

Regarding this edit, it was reverted not because there's anything wrong with love, but because it's not appropriate to insert questions into a disambiguation page (or any article page, for that matter). The only things that should be added to that page is other topics with the title "Romeo and Juliet" or close to it. As to what's bad about love? I'm far too jaded on the concept to provide a decent answer. Courcelles (talk) 20:54, 15 April 2010 (UTC)

I'm not an administrator, I don't have the technical ability to block anyone. You can request admin intervention at WP:AIV. Courcelles (talk) 18:49, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
I already have! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:51, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
And I was going to do it myself, after a look through their contribs. That's a vandalism only account, to be sure. Courcelles (talk) 18:53, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm just that good ;)! Funny, that's the second time Elockid has blocked a vandal I reported (both very quickly) and I was in the oppose section at his RfA.... HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:55, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Well, you could always run again and be able to "self-service" things like this... Courcelles (talk) 18:59, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Great job guys, After reading what you have written, I just thought of something, couldn't wikipedia have a bot that recognizes the vandalism immediately right before you push the save button (I guess this bot will take too much resources from the servers). Not like this maybe... or I don't know... some edits are so obvious to be vandalism, I believe a robot could recognize simple vandalisms, for example reporting to us the bad words used just to remove the text of an entire page (just for the main article pages an their own talk pages, not for user pages). Don't know... See ya! --TudorTulok (talk) 19:13, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, but that requires being masochistic enough to run again and finding a week where I'm not spread all over the place (both so I don't put my foot in my mouth again and so that I can actually be around to answer questions and the like). Maybe when I can take Lohan off my to-do list and closed all the GANs I'm reviewing (only 3 atm I think, but I'd like to do 2 more to bring my total for April up to 20). I have a habit of not picking the easy GANs- for example, right now I've got Avril Lavigne, BBC News (which I'm probably going to fail later) and Premiership of Gordon Brown! Interesting mix! I expect it'll be the end of April/start of May by the time I've wrapped up them and Lohan but you never know.
TudorTulok, we already have one- User:ClueBot, but it's deliberately programmed conservatively so that it doesn't revert edits the might be good. You could always apply for rollback permission so you can revert it quicker and install Twinkle (or Huggle) so you can warn them and report them by clicking a button! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 19:24, 16 April 2010 (UTC)
This explains it, though it looks quite complicated! Aiken 00:53, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Thanks for that. I've given it a try. We'll see if it works... HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 01:21, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Yeah Aiken pointed you in the right direction (thanks, Aiken!), though 31 days is a rather long time- I think mine is set to five. And MiszaBot has been a little hit or miss since the same thing that had us clerking AIV for those couple days, though it's been around a few times. (This talk page is a little longer than I prefer it right now, as a matter of fact.) Courcelles (talk) 02:04, 17 April 2010 (UTC)
Current events globe On 18 April 2010, In the news was updated with a news item that involved the article April 2010 Kohat bombings, which you substantially updated. Vandalism to Horror film article

Thanks to Courcelles for reverting the vandalism to this article, but it was vandalism perpetrated by user 84.92.183.210, not by me. In the future, please be very careful who you blame! The News Hound 02:29, 21 April 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by The News Hound (talkcontribs)

Considering I've never edited your talk page and my only edit to that page has the summary "(Reverted edits by 84.92.183.210 to last revision by The News Hound (HG))", I think you've got the wrong article or the wrong man. That summary means I was reverting 84.92.183.210, and putting your version back up, not accusing you of vandalism. (Oh, and in a moment I'm going to drop a talkback template on your talk page- so I will have edited it then, but never before the timestamp on this post!) Courcelles (talk) 16:19, 21 April 2010 (UTC)

Deacon and Inglourious Basterds Accolades

Hey, where did you come from yesterday? I saw that a dablink was pointed out, went to fix it today and found that you had already beaten me to it. Thank you though, and for the other minor corrections. I'll get on with the Deacon article now. :) - JuneGloom07 Talk? 18:41, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

I was driving by and saw your nomination- I'm working on my own potential FLC, so was looking for similar ones when I stumbled on yours, so I thought I'd give it a read, and ended up making a couple of tweaks. I'm not bound to the seven days on GAR's like some reviewers are; it'll get there, so as long as progress is being made, it takes the time it takes. (Though if it's still going on in June there might be a problem ;) ) Courcelles (talk) 18:52, 14 April 2010 (UTC)

Sorry for the silly edit, I just wanted to prove to my friend wikipedia is NOT a reliable source and should not be quoted in her college paper.

Well, thank you again. The list now has its first Support. I hope the Deacon review doesn't go on till June! Lol. I will try and look at it again tonight, but I'm having some trouble with a vandal at the moment. My User page has been protected because of it and I've been running around thanking all the editors who have been reverting the vandalism. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 22:17, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
(June there was kind of a play on your user name. I want various things wrapped up before I come across the pond in May, because I am not touching this place while I'm on vacation! No pressure though, FLC's have clocks, GAR's have none, at least not in my book.) Semi-protecting the user page is a very good idea, I'd just leave it. I don't get nearly as much vandalism here as my user page used to, though I did get one determined vandal this afternoon. I'll try to take a closer look through your FLC within 48-72 hours, the edits I made yesterday were just the problems that jumped out at me. Courcelles (talk) 22:25, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
I hope to have Deacon done by the end of the month, so you can add it to your running total at the GAN backlog elimination drive and I can take some off to write an essay for Uni. I think the vandal you got this afternoon is the same one that came after me, they must have seen my username on your page (I noticed they edited this section) and thought they'd change their IP and come and play with my user and talk pages. Some people just have way too much time on their hands. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 23:19, 14 April 2010 (UTC)
Just a quick note to say, I haven't forgotten about Deacon. I'll be getting on with the article tomorrow. :) - JuneGloom07 Talk? 23:15, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
No problems at all. If I somehow miss it- I have the article and review watchlisted- feel free to come back here :) Courcelles (talk) 23:16, 18 April 2010 (UTC)
What I actually meant was that I'll be getting on with Deacon this evening and tomorrow. I was just wondering if you think any of this info could be added to the article? Btw, thank you for your support at FLC. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 22:30, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Time, there's just never enough of it, is there? FLC seems swamped lately, wonder if it's the end fo the next round of that Wikicup competition? 1 is relevant as long as his label doesn't have its own article. The rest, are all interesting, 8 and 3 are relevant, 2 and 5 are antidotes, but includeable. (I'm assuming they're all suitably sourceable!) Courcelles (talk) 22:38, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
(edit conflict)Don't mind me butting in here. I'd say the stuff in your sandbox is good if it can be well sourced. The last one seems a little trivial and I'm not sure about the wedding dress thing but the rest are certainly good. Btw, Brad, since you offered, could you have a look at User:Diego Grez/Pichilemu for me and check the sources for reliability and accuracy please before I ask Xeno to history merge it. Cheers. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 22:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Thank you, both. Brad, I'm guessing you meant to put a 4 instead of an 8 there and yes, I have the source for them. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 22:53, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
June, yes, I did mean 4. HJ, well only looking at refs with an access date of this month, ref 17 doesn't work for me, and ref 75 says what you'd expect, that the cheerleading team did was defending national champions in 2008 and, in fact, did earn a place to compete in the U.S. in 2009. However, since the source is from 2008, it doesn't say how they did there- or even defending their title in 2008. Many of the sources he's added are off-line (20, 23, 48, 49, 50) and with 17 broken, there's not a lot I can really say. Sorry. Courcelles (talk) 22:59, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Alright, I'll have a look in more detail and put up with Google translate for a quick check and discuss it with Diego. thanks for your help. Btw, I'm watching you so you don't need to leave me talkbacks. Did I read you correctly above that you;re coming this side of the Atlantic in May? If so, where are you heading? Thanks for your help, anyway HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:42, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
Get 17 back up, and I'll be happy to read it. (If you get on it, download the PDF and e-mail it to me). Passing through London Heathrow on my way to Paris. Unfortunately, I'll just be in London long enough to drink some of BA's Champagne- I'm that weird fellow that prefers London- and Britain in general- to Paris. My companion, however, is not! Since I've got both of you, would one of you mind taking a gander at List of Olympic medalists in softball to see if I've missed anything obvious before going to FLC? (I tried PR, and got comments that, unfortunately, would require breaking format with all the other lists of Olympic medallists to implement. The useful comments from there was that it might need a copyedit, and the captions needed a rewrite. And too many redlinks, but I don't consider making 20+ more BLP's that would look slightly better than Emi Inui much of an improvement to the encyclopaedia generally.) Courcelles (talk) 23:50, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
If you prefer Heathrow over Paris, you're nuts, my friend! Champagne is always a bonus, but I prefer a nice single malt! I'll have a look at it for you since I'm just loitering on my watchlist atm. As for the redlinks, it might be better to delink them (I'm sure you're not allowed any in a featured article, I don;t know about lists though) and relink them when if/when they're created. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:56, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
I think I've fixed all the remaining points on the Deacon review. I finally found the reason why he was dissmissed from Bottega Veneta, I added his parent's names and his hobbies and I tweaked a few other sentences while I was there. Btw, are either of you on Twitter? Myself and AnemoneProjectors were wondering if any other Wikipedians were members. Also, that talk about alcohol makes me sad, since I'm allergic to most of it. :( - JuneGloom07 Talk? 00:27, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I had a look at it for you, Brad, and I can't see any serious issues with it- I reckon you should go ahead and take it to FLC and then deal with any criticisms you get there as they come in, but I don't know about those redlinks. The worst that can happen is that it fails and you get some useful feedback and can renominate in a few weeks. I just got sidetracked by a vandalism-only account (now indef'd)! Amazing what you find with a broad watchlist! When do you leave, btw? I'd like to have you around for the start and end of my RfA so I don't mind bumping it up a little. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:38, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I prefer London to Paris. Heathrow is just a nice stopping point. I enjoy single malts as well, but the best I can get out of British Airways is a Glenlevet 18 (or sometimes the amazingly overhyped blended Johnny Walker Blue), whereas they pour 1999 Bollinger at the Champagne bar. A good Islay malt and I'd sip the whisky all trip long. I'll be leaving on the 7th, and back early on the morning of the 15th of May. Deacon, I'll take my thoughts there over tot the GA review. HJ, thanks for taking a glance at the softball list, I'll take it to FLC tomorrow and watch over it like a hawk, I tend to think my own writing is downright awful, but failing the first time through isn't a horrible thing. (I also note Order of battle at the Battle of Camperdown is drawing support there despite plenty of redlinks.) Courcelles (talk) 02:34, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I've corrected HJ's tag. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 20:41, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
She has indeed. I've got half a bottle of Glenfiddich 18 knocking around, though I tend not to be such a competent editor after a few glasses of it! Ill stick it and the FLC on my watchlist for you so I can help you head off any opposes before the close. I've just stumbled across Lindsay Lohan discography which I think could be FL with some references and a copyedit so that's the subject of my attention atm. I spoke to Fastily earlier and suggested he go ahead and create my RfA so we can get the ball rolling so you might want to stick it on your watchlist so you can write up the con-nom ;). Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 20:52, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

GAN backlog elimination drive - 1 week to go

First off, on behalf of myself and my co-coordinator Wizardman, I would like to thank you for the efforts that you have made so far in this GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a success, and that is thanks to you. See this Signpost article about what this drive has achieved so far.

We're currently heading into the final week of the drive. At this time, if you have any GANs on review or on hold, you should be finishing off those reviews. Right now, we have more GANs on review or on hold than we do unreviewed. If you're going to start a GA review, please do so now so you can complete it by the end of the month and so that the nominator has a full 7-day window to address any concerns.

See you at the finish!

Taking down of Controversy on Glenn Beck page

That edit to the page was not vandalism or political. If the reason you took it down was political, please don't do it again. It addresses a real controversy. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Trailblazer2 (talkcontribs) 19:32, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Political? I just had to read the article to even learn who Glenn Beck is. The problem with that edit is much simpler- WP:BLP. You inserted completely unsourced information that alleges a living person is accused of heinous crimes- something explicitly against Wikipedia's Biographies of living persons policies. Courcelles (talk) 19:36, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

It addresses a real life controversy, it;s not accusing him of annything. Wikipedia is also meant to tell history, and that is part of the shows history. Also, that articule is not about a person, it's about a show, I did not add that to his page. --Trailblazer2 (talk) 19:51, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

The BLP policy applies to every page on this website, without exception- not just the biography pages. Any even potentially negative information about a living person, which Beck is, must be accompanied with impeccable sourcing. Vague 'rumours' are not good enough. Courcelles (talk) 20:15, 23 April 2010 (UTC)
You may also want to read Wikipedia:Truth- truth is not a guideline on Wikipedia- verifiability is. Courcelles (talk) 20:17, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

Hey

Whenever you're ready to write up your co-nom, Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/HJ Mitchell 2 is now a blue link. Fastily's done, so once you've added your co-nom and we've worked out how to include MW/DG, it should be good to go. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 03:28, 24 April 2010 (UTC)

VPC closures

Hi Courcelles! Thanks for all your help so far with the VPC closures. Please don't be shy to close my nominations which did not meet the quorum (4 supports). Elekhh (talk) 01:39, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Due to the snail's pace of VPC, I don't want to shut the door too quickly on ones with support; though I have been monitoring the page. I did just shut down Wikipedia:Valued picture candidates/Anne Frank House Amsterdam- without any support in three months, it was time to call it. Courcelles (talk) 02:23, 25 April 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing that vandalism at Diffusion. There were two in a row within a couple hours there, though, so please remember to check that. Regards, - 2/0 (cont.) 16:25, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

You're right, I need to check the prior edit more often- it's a bad side effect of viewing hundreds of diffs an hour on Huggle. Still, I should have caught that one. Courcelles (talk) 16:44, 26 April 2010 (UTC)(UTC)

Hey Brad, might be worth having another look at that GA review- Mjroots seems to have fixed most of our concerns and t would be nice to be able to pass it before the end of the month so it counts for the drive. Btw, in case you haven't seen I hit WP:100 yesterday! I'm at 104/19/5 (85% according to Soxbot) with 18 hours to go! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:17, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

I've been watching the RfA closely, but I'm the type that believes the nominator's job is to make his case well, and then shut up unless something blatantly unfair comes up. It hasn't- there is not one thing in the opposition section from before the RfA started that I didn't fully know about. Are you ready to sign off on BOAC? I'll take a look in an hour or so, I need to re-examine that Family Guy FLC as well. Courcelles (talk) 18:17, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
I disagree with the opposes (but I would, it's my RfA!) but most of them are fair and all of them are civil, which makes me happier than the 106 supporters. The last one turned into a bit of a mess, but I'm really glad this one has been relatively peaceful. I'll have a look at Speedbird a little later (I'm just about to take the dogs for a walk) and if I find anything minor I'll probably just fix it myself and then I'll sing off, but I'll defer to you for the final decision. Best, HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 18:44, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Damn you! I was a bout to create that >:(! HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:45, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
What are you doing handling WP:AFC/R anyway? I've never seen you around there before! Courcelles (talk) 23:47, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Remember to load a talk page with {{WPAFC|class=redirect}} when you handle a request, though, please. Courcelles (talk) 23:51, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Will do thanks! I loiter around AfC and AFC/R sometimes but someone else usually beats me to it because I'm not overly familiar with the area and tend to be a little hesitant. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 23:53, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
AfC/R is pretty easy, it's the actual articles that can be tricky (and that's where the backlogs tend to develop). The real challenge, and one I never touch, though is the files for upload page. More help, as they say, is always welcomed- and I mean that, despite the hard time I'm going you. Courcelles (talk) 23:59, 30 April 2010 (UTC)

RfA Thanks

I wanted to thank you for participating in my RfA, which succeeded at 134/4/0. I am truly amazed but equally elated by the result and I hope I am able to serve as a good administrator. It was a surreal experience to succeed, and I will strive to meet your expectations.

More specifically, thank you for your support. "No concerns" may not be true, but I am thankful that you believe in it. :)

Thanks! ceranthor 00:43, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

It's not official yet, but I think I owe you this...

Maybe if you find yourself this side of the Atlantic and not just passing through, I'll be able to buy you a real one, but until then... HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 15:22, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd like that, the next time I'm in the motherland. Though I'll wait until a 'crat it's official before counting anything there as finalized. Courcelles (talk) 16:13, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for your participation in the April 2010 GAN backlog elimination drive

GAN backlog elimination drives chart up to 1 May

On behalf of my co-coordinator Wizardman, I'd like to especially thank you for your efforts over this past month's GAN backlog elimination drive. It has been nothing short of a complete success, which hopefully results in more expedient good article reviews, increasing users' confidence in the good article nomination processes. Even if you made just a small contribution, it still helped contribute to the success of this drive. Here is what we have accomplished this last month in this drive.

  • 661 total nominations were reviewed. 541 of them passed (~81.8%), 97 (~14.7%) failed, and 23 (~3.5%) ended on hold.
  • The WP:GAN page started at 110,126 bytes length on 1 April and ended at 43,387 bytes length at the end of 30 April (a 66,739 byte reduction in the page, about 60.6% less).
  • Excluding extremes, the longest wait for someone's GAN to be review was about 11.5 weeks at the beginning. (I mistook the figure when I reported to the Signpost that it was 13.) At the end, with the exception of one that was relisted, the longest wait is now at 10 days.
  • 63 different users participated, each having completed at least one GAN, with others also having helped out behind-the-scenes in making the drive a success.
  • The drive started with 463 GA nominations remaining and 388 unreviewed. At the end of the month, we ended with 89 remaining (374 or about 80.8% less) and 47 unreviewed (341 or about 87.9% less).

For those who have accomplished certain objectives in the drive, awards will be coming shortly. Again, thank you for your help in the drive, and I hope you continue to help review GA nominations and overall improve the quality of articles here on Wikipedia.

OMG! I'll say it again, thank you so much for your help with the references. I hope your list passes too. :) - JuneGloom07 Talk? 22:47, 29 April 2010 (UTC)

Woohoo! I'm glad that was promoted! Courcelles (talk) 08:47, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I've nearly finished the table. It was a slightly bigger task then I first thought. I've been using some of the sources from the Inglourious Basterds list, so we don't have to find and fix them. I've also had to remove some awards from the table, because there aren't any reliable sources for them. I don't think we're going to miss them much though, there are so many left. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 20:25, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Finally, the table has been uploaded! That was some task. You can go fix the references now, enjoy. :P - JuneGloom07 Talk? 21:58, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
Someone clearly objected to our work yesterday and reverted everything, without giving a reason why. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 10:20, 1 May 2010 (UTC)

I've replied. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 15:25, 1 May 2010 (UTC)
I think our Hurt Locker friend saw my message. Well, he must have done when he cleared his talk page. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 09:55, 2 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd gladly welcome his help, but the reverting without comment was problematic. Hopefully, message received. Courcelles (talk) 14:34, 2 May 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism in 2 articles

Hi, Could you protect 2 articles in order to forbid all modifications, please? The article "Mister World 2010"[3] and "Mister Monde 2010"[4] are complete and don't need to be changed. Then, there is a man who always changes and writes his name at the place of Mister Nigeria to be famous. So i have to rename again and again. Thanks for your help. Despebobini (talk) 16:35, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not an admin, so I don't have the power to protect. (Also, the second article is on the French Wikipedia, which is another project) You'll have to ask at WP:RFPP, but I the one here on the English Wikipedia really isn't seeing that much vandalism. edit messages

Hello you recently said on User talk:142.31.40.102 that edits had been reverted, etc. and I would just like to tell you that this is a school IP adress and over four hundred students will use it therefore most edits will be unconstructive. It would be a good idea to block us if possible. Thank You. If you would like to message me personally my username is spike350. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 142.31.40.102 (talk) 20:07, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

well, no reason for a block- there hasn't been any problems from that IP since March, so your school's students might just not care about editing Wikipedia. Courcelles (talk) 20:55, 3 May 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for your recent FLC reviews; they are much appreciated. Dabomb87 (talk) 03:26, 4 May 2010 (UTC)

No problem- it's been fun, actually. (Though its no fun being on the nominator's chair, as I'm finding out this week.) Courcelles (talk) 01:53, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Archdiocese of Milan

In the Archdiocese of Milan article, the listing of parishes, none of which have Wikipedia articles or external links, constitutes a directory. WP:NOTDIRECTORY. It was a valid edit. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Bojangles04 (talkcontribs) 16:43, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Eh, you're right- it showed up n the tool I was using as a page blanking. Why don't you go ahead and revert me, and put the IP's removal back? Courcelles (talk) 16:51, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Your subpage

Hi Brad. Would you mind if I cleaned up the infobox on User:Courcelles/Hurricane Ellen (1973)? Please leave a {{talkback}} on my page or answer there. Thanks. --The High Fin Sperm Whale 19:22, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

I was thinking of U1'ing that thing, as I don't have the time right now to work on it, but if you want to, be my guest- I'll finish writing the article when I get back from Europe. Courcelles (talk) 19:23, 5 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. Also, I added [[:Category:1973 Atlantic hurricane season]], so make sure you remove the ':' when you actually publish the article. --The High Fin Sperm Whale 20:33, 5 May 2010 (UTC)

Adminship

I know you're keen on waiting, but duty is calling. I have written up Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/Courcelles and will continue filling in links. If you plan to accept, then I'll contact people that have offered and you should have several co-noms by the time you get back. And remember, getting nominated does not mean that you have to accept quickly or postpone. You can always let it sit during your vacation or even for the rest of May and accept at a later date.--Chaser (talk) 06:26, 7 May 2010 (UTC)

I've watchlisted it. Do accept :) (no pressure, though.) Regards, {{Sonia|talk|simple}} 09:58, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I've written you up a co-nom. Any time you're feeling masochistic, just answer the questions and accept it ;) HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 16:38, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
I'd happily add another co-nom, but I'm dubious about the usefulness of a whole wall of conominators. I'll happily just add a strong and verbose support once it goes live! ~ mazca talk 18:44, 7 May 2010 (UTC)
