Less can be more
[edit]When I started an effort to raise Vitamin A to Good Article status, I first cut length by 20% and number of refs by more than 30%, then built it up. Some articles need to be shorter. David notMD (talk) 13:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Wow… well I guess that’s right Cornishrom20 (talk) 13:13, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- But seriously? Vitamin A? Cornishrom20 (talk) 13:27, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- The article honestly looks really good to be honest though, you did a good job Cornishrom20 (talk) 13:28, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Medical/health articles have a high standard for references explained at WP:MEDRS. A lot of what was at Vitamin A (and the other 10 of 13 vitamin articles I have raised to GA) were for in vitro studies, animal trials, human case studies and human clinical trials. Even the last does not meet MEDRS, only reviews, systematic reviews and meta-analyses of multiple human trials. David notMD (talk) 22:06, 18 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yes, that makes sense. Cornishrom20 (talk) 08:16, 20 September 2024 (UTC)

Inline citations
[edit]Hello, I saw one of your recent posts at the Wikipedia:Teahouse where you were evaluating your edits. It's no big deal to remove stuff that needs to be removed. I looked through some of your edits, and I don't see sources cited (like this one). Our citations norms are, being frank, pretty complicated. Wikipedia:Inline citation is a good starting place. You're welcome to reach out if you have questions or issues, Rjjiii (talk) 04:33, 19 September 2024 (UTC)
- Yeah I haven’t learnt how to do citations yet Cornishrom20 (talk) 08:17, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
Wikipedia beginners wanted for user testing
[edit]Wikimedia Deutschland is looking for beginner editors for user testing! We are working on some changes that may affect the editing experience, and we want to make sure that our changes don't make things more difficult for beginners. If you made less than 100 edits, we would love to hear from you! More information and a signup: https://greatquestion.co/wikimediadeutschland/4oADuQpx/apply. --Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) 10:18, 19 September 2024 (UTC) PS: This is a one-time message to selected beginner editors. You won't get any further notifications if you're not interested.
- Sorry I don’t speak German. I’d be useless writing an article in German. Cornishrom20 (talk) 08:17, 20 September 2024 (UTC)
- Hi Cornishrom20, the user testing will be conducted in English, using examples from English Wikipedia. We are intentionally looking for users from different backgrounds in order to make sure that our work is useful in different Wikipedia language versions. Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) 07:37, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- Ok? What should I do? Cornishrom20 (talk) 08:18, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- If you're interested to support us, just sign-up here (the page offers some more information, e.g. on possible compensation and privacy). We'll contact you, if you're selected for an interview (we strive to get a diverse group of users for our tests, that's why selection depends on how many users similar to you have been selected already). Johannes Richter (WMDE) (talk) 09:55, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- I’ll check out the link later tonight.
- im using a school iPad right now. Cornishrom20 (talk) 10:09, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
