Request reason:

I did not know my username was inappropriate. I would like to have the opportunity to have my username changed so that I will no longer be in violation and can be unblocked.

Decline reason:

I've blocked your sock puppet, Therivalc (talk · contribs). Under neither account have you done anything useful. NinjaRobotPirate (talk) 21:35, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Were you attempting to impersonate another user? Your edits were only minor changes to your user page, as if you were trying to build up edits to be autoconfirmed. Is this true? 331dot (talk) 19:27, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

502 edits. Too bad that effort did not go into improving the encyclopedia. (sigh)-- Dlohcierekim 20:33, 16 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I made minor edits to my user page to speed up the confirmation process. I did not know that was wrong, I thought it was just clever. My first 30 or so edits were real, and I think useful. I added content, and even uploaded a new image file to add to an article. I would say that I did add some useful information. I don’t think it’s fair to block me indefinitely if I can just change to a new name, which I tried to do on my own, but I guess that was wrong too. I have added a lot of content as an IP user as well, which made me want to create an account.

Decline reason:

This doesn't begin to address your inappropriate behaviour here. Yamla (talk) 16:33, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I’d like to have the opportunity to address the admin concerns about my behavior. Please tell me what you would like me to change. I made suggestions that were deemed not good enough. I’d like to know what I can do to unblock my account and IP address. I’m up for anything if given the opportunity.

Decline reason:

Declining for the block on 2019-08-20 (I previously declined an unblock request for an earlier block). Nope, confirmed block evasion with Ytraps today. That clearly demonstrates you have no intention of following our policies and guidelines. Yamla (talk) 21:39, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If you aren't willing to address your inappropriate behaviour, there's no reason to leave you with access to your talk page. If your next edit doesn't substantially address this, I will revoke your access to this page. --Yamla (talk) 21:19, 18 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Respectfully, I am trying to address these concerns. The reason I was giving for my block was username impersonation. I’d like to address the issue by having my username changed. I tried to solve that problem by creating a new account with a more unique name, but I now know that that was a violation and considered a sock puppet. I did not know what a sock puppet was until it was mentioned.

A second reason was given to me later that I had not done anything useful. I contributed to a few pages, added information about the Spartan Marching Band for example, or uploading new images to the Michigan - Michigan State football rivalry article. I also performed many copy edits.

I pledge not to participate in any kind of vandalism, edit wars, or any disruption or damage to Wikipedia. I believe that pledge, plus the request for a username change, covers any possible reason for blocking me.

From Wikipedia: Blocking Policy “Blocks are used to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, not to punish users”.

If I am pledged not to cause damage or disruption, an indefinite block to my account and IP address seems more like a punishment than prevention.

I apologize for the length of this response. To the best of my ability I have addressed your concerns. If there is more that must be addressed, please tell me, rather than threaten to ban me from my own talk page. I cannot read your mind, and am doing my best to rectify this situation.

It is inconceivable that your choice of username was an accident. You have made no effort to explain why you selected this name, and until that decision is explained and the thinking behind it addressed, I see no likelihood that you will be unblocked, whether you change it or not.
