Question regarding CorenSearchBot

A question was asked at User_talk:Hasteur#G13 about integrating the CSB tools into the User:HasteurBot engine. Since I wrote most of the HasteurBot on top of Python and CSB is written in perl, I don't think I can directly call CSB without doing a shell out. I'd like to get your approval to do a python implementation of the core functionality of checking for the same types of violation and flag the page for human review.

I'm thinking of making the implementaiton such that it will be fed off a list of articles provided to it (so it's not locked into the NewPages feed) and support a configurable set of templates to not be as warning (and be able to use AfC targeted templates). Thanks Hasteur (talk) 01:18, 5 September 2013 (UTC)

You're welcome to do so, but I don't know of an implementation of Wagner-Fisher matching done in python – and that is what the meat of CSBot is. That said, it might be simply easier to create a way for other bots to do a remote call of some sort to any running CSBot requesting a check of a page – that may end up being the easiest way to go forward. — Coren (talk) 01:10, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

Database

Hi Coren, for my questions I've been referred to you by petrb. I submitted a quite simple query on host: dewiki.labsdb, db: u3710__stats — it took nearly 13 minutes to complete.

2. Are statictical page-hits data available in any (for me accessible) database at labs site or do I have to import all the dumps from dumps.wikimedia? It's just only for de.wiki and January a total of 377 million records.

MariaDB [u3710__stats]> select page, sum(hits) from page_stats where page='Nahtoderfahrung' group by page;
+-----------------+-----------+
| page            | sum(hits) |
+-----------------+-----------+
| Nahtoderfahrung |      7290 |

Sanford Maine Stage

Sanford Maine Stage was founded in the late 20th century. It was located in Springvale, Maine, directly atop a hill on windy back road. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kcaramihalis (talkcontribs) 03:19, 26 September 2013 (UTC)
