DYK for C.J. Pearson
On 27 June 2015, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article C.J. Pearson, which you recently created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that 12-year-old conservative political activist C.J. Pearson defended former mayor Rudy Giuliani and criticized President Barack Obama in a YouTube video that got nearly two million views? Perhaps a glutton for punishment
Hello. We haven't really interacted, but I got your name off of the Wikipedia:Request an RfA nomination list. While I may not be ready, I think I might be. I do a bit of work on AfC, AfD, and New Pages. I haven't made many contributions on the noticeboards (ANI, etc), instead focusing more on auditing them to see what types of responses and reactions admins should be making. I've created some articles, but don't have any at GA or FA status (have only nominated 1 at GA, and it's still awaiting review). I have about another 10 that I will be nominating over the next month or so. I'm very active in anti-vandalism. Despise it. I'm also pretty active in the Film and US City projects, and do some c/e work (although I've gotten away from that). Anyway, that's the Reader's Digest version of my Wikipedia activity. I tend to do the grunt work of gnomes and sloths. I think I could assist in reducing some of the backlogs I see in the admin functions from time to time. I was wondering if you'd care to nominate me. I chose you because of your blurb on the list and what you focus on. At the least, I can get an idea of where my weaknesses lie. Thanks for your time. Onel5969 TT me 00:26, 14 August 2015 (UTC)
- Dear Onel5969 - Thank you very much for your interest. However, I am temporarily going to say no, here is why; because I have not been on Wikipedia for months and I need a refresher. Do you mind if I review your nomination request in about a week? Thank you! Cheers my wiki! CookieMonster755 (talk) 03:49, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
- Hi! And welcome back. Perhaps I'm a glutton, but I'm not a complete masochist. No rush on this, whenever you feel like it, and no problem if the answer's no. Take care. Onel5969 TT me 04:04, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

- (talk page stalker) Hi, CookieMonster! Thanks for your willingness to help in this way, and sorry to butt in. However, I happened to notice that you have added the category Category:WikiProject Admin Nominators to your user page. That is not the way to advise people of your willingness to nominate. In fact if you look at that category, you will see that no other editors are listed there. Instead, you should simply add yourself to the list of people willing to make nominations, as you already did at Wikipedia:WikiProject Admin Nominators#Participants. --MelanieN (talk) 00:32, 14 September 2015 (UTC) P.S. Oh, and I see you are also listed at Wikipedia:Request an RfA nomination#Editors willing to be asked to nominate a user so you have all the bases covered. --MelanieN (talk) 00:36, 14 September 2015 (UTC)
- MelanieN, you're always welcome on my page! Long time no see. I am sorry for that mistake. If you have not removed it already, I would be happy to remove it. Cheers Miss MelanieN, queen of Wikipedia :P CookieMonster755 (talk) 00:39, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

- Hi CookieMonster755! I want to really thank you for your willingness to take a look at me for becoming an admin. After I left you the glutton message, a few admins contacted me (through a completely unrelated matter) regarding going through the RFA process. I should have gotten back to you yesterday, and I apologize for that, but we're in the middle of selling our house, and this has been a crazy weekend. Based on my conversations with the admins and Wikipedia:Advice for RfA candidates, I think it's better right now if I get nominated by someone who is already an admin. I understand this can be a very grueling process. I hope you understand, and I surely won't forget your willingness to work with me. I hope, if you continue your research on me (which I'll respond to shortly), and think I'd make a good admin, I hope I can count on your support if I do make a run for it. Right now, after talking with the admins, I'm pretty sure I will go through with it, but I'm not positive. I definitely look forward to any feedback you can give me.Onel5969 TT me 00:50, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

It's totally fine if you want to get nominated by an administrator, but I will still preceded with the RfA nomination request just for some fun ;) I look forward to seeing the good works you have done on Wikipedia. I completely understand and respect the decision you made. Cheers wikifriend! CookieMonster755 (talk) 00:55, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

14:05:20, 7 October 2015 review of submission by Wendell Smith
First let me say that I appreciate the opportunity for revision, however I am a bit baffled that the 11 contributors to Ramon Guthrie's festschrift, who are considered notable enough to have Wikipedia articles were not considered a sufficient demonstration of his notability. A festschrift is by definition a collection contributions independent of their object, that is, their object, in this case Ramon Guthrie, has nothing to do with the collection of the various tributes. Also the circumstances of the other citation from M. L. Rosenthal, which, although it does come from the introduction to the Persea Books edition of Guthrie's late work, Maximum Security Ward and other Poems," is a statement by this eminent critic as to why he chose "MSW, etc." to be the initial book in Persea's Lamplighter Poetry Series: Guthrie was out of print and Rosenthal felt that his poetry was so important that it should remain in print. Because of his decision and print on demand, Guthrie's late work has remained in print. Finally I would think that Guthrie's extensive bibliography demonstrates a body of work that is notable in and of itself. Thank you for your feedback and the time you devote to Wikipedia. Yours truly, Wendell Smith (talk) 14:05, 7 October 2015 (UTC)Wendell Smith
- Hi Wendell Smith - Thought I might answer, since you must have missed that CM has retired from Wikipedia (hopefully they will be lured out of retirement at some point). Currently, the article's citations don't show that Guthrie meets Wikipedia's notability criteria. It would also help if they were in the proper format (see WP:CIT). In addition, there are major issues with the article's structure (e.g. the "reviews" all need to go away), and the anthologies section needs to probably go away as well. Feel free to contact me on my talk page. Onel5969 TT me 15:20, 7 October 2015 (UTC) (talk page stalker)
