Welcome!

Welcome to Wikipedia, CommandoGuard~enwiki! My name is Ryan, aka Acetic Acid. I noticed that you were new and haven't received any messages yet. I just wanted to see how you were doing. Wikipedia can be a little intimidating at first, since it uses different formatting than other sites that use HTML and CSS. In the long run, though, you'll find that the WikiSyntax is a lot easier and faster than those other ways. Here are a few links to get you started:

There are a lot of policies and guides to read, but I highly recommend reading over those first. If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Please be sure to sign your name on Talk using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, along with a link to your user page. This way, others know when you left a message and how to find you. It's easier than having to type out your name, right? :)

I hope you enjoy contributing to Wikipedia. We can use all the help we can get! Have a nice day. Sincerely, Ryan 10:05, July 31, 2005 (UTC).

Request for edit summary

[edit]

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. – Oleg Alexandrov (talk) 03:02, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at Max Payne (film), you will be blocked from editing. Ckatzchatspy 23:29, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I was attempting to undo the changes the troll made... Someone did it before me, so I recovered the wrong article by mistake (and fixed this the moment I realized that). Don't rush to judgment on something like that until all the facts are in. CommandoGuard (talk) 23:34, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
